Well, it was that time of the year again, time for the three day extravaganza of the Ipswich Show... & being Queensland, the weather decided to throw everything into turmoil & rain steadily despite the days & days of sunny warmth that have led this Autumn to be one of the mildest ever recorded. Clearly, the motto was "The Show Must Go On" & it did, albeit a little... um, soggy...

My mother & I decided to brave the inclement weather & continue our tradition of checking it all out on the very first day, carrying umbrellas & wearing sturdy footwear to ensure we didn't slip in the wet. Here I am posing with Spongebob Squarepants in a gorgeous floral satin fit-to-flare dress with grosgrain ribbon belt from Anthea Crawford, bright pink mesh three-quarter-sleeved cropped cardigan from Yarra Trail (purchased many years ago from DFO Jindalee), black mesh & iridescent blue suede Puma kickboxing boots for that sport-luxe touch that seems to be perpetually in fashion, a colour-blocked vinyl handbag with gold hardware (also from Anthea Crawford) to carry all the essentials - wallet, phone, umbrella, plastic rain poncho - & a pair of hand-beaded cuffs that I picked up a few years ago from an EKKA market stall. I'm also carrying a black anorak from Mix by Coles... you know, just in case.

Scroll down to see what we did, what we saw... & a little snippet of what Joanne wore...

Naughtiest Barnyard Baby ever!

What can I say? I have this thing with ducks & geese & chickens...
I just think they are absolutely gorgeous.

Sitting in the Grandstand...
Joanne is wearing a lovely floral neoprene shift dress from Asos & black mesh three-quarter-sleeved cardigan from Yarra Trail. Yep, we inadvertently matched again!

Had to get my beloved Sausage & Onion Roll with BBQ Sauce from Rotary...

Ipswich Koala Rescue saved this little guy when his mother was sadly hit by a car. They'll raise him until he's old enough to be on his own then release him into the wild. What a cutie!

Yep, it was really starting to come down!

Finishing the day by inspecting the Hay Bale Art, which held up rather well despite the Big Wet...
