Finally posting some pictures of what I wore to celebrate the moment that the clock ticks over from 2016 to 2017, signalling a new year & the onslaught of television/radio advertisements, magazine articles & Instagram posts that not only regale you with detailed recounts of every single monumental event that occurred during the course of the year but entice you to purchase one of two things: post-resolution weight loss aids or back to school supplies. Clearly, there is no in-between until AT LEAST January 23. I have no children to send to educational institutions nor do I subscribe to the concept that the arbitrary changing of the clock should suddenly inspire total & utter behavioural/attitudinal changes that will, quite frankly, be forgotten about by the time that February rolls around so I'm afraid, dear readers, that you're stuck with the fashion.

So, what does one wear to the "party of the year" on a hot & sultry Queensland summer night? Why, something simple & statement-making, of course! Case in point: this amazing navy floral lace dress with satin lining & silver thread embroidery from Anthea Crawford, sky high silver vinyl heels with dual buckle straps from Forever New, shiny navy patent envelope clutch with silver hardware & long shoulder strap for later on when I get tired of carrying it around or tucking it under my arm (also from Anthea Crawford) & one lone piece of exceptional jewellery - an antique silver art nouveau dragonfly cuff from Kellie's Antiques in the Brisbane Arcade. Scroll down for an even closer look:
