So excited to be finally sharing all the beautiful pictures from a day spent exploring the Sherwood Arboretum - while the temperatures are still mild enough to really enjoy it - with my cousin & her two rambunctious munchkins! It's such a wonderful place to relax & unwind beneath a shady tree with a picnic rug, fresh-from-the-oven bakery goods & a cold drink before making some feathered friends at the duck pond, scooting around the boardwalk beside the meandering Brisbane River & climbing some decades old fig trees for a better view of the lush (if slightly sunburnt) surroundings.

For the occasion, I donned a gorgeous, vintage taupe cotton Mexican midi dress with delightful black thread embroidery from a lovely little store called Gold Sun Dreamer Vintage on Etsy with a black elastane slip from Taking Shape underneath for decency, black mesh longline cardigan (also from Taking Shape) to ward off the slight chill in the morning air, white leather joggers with oversized elastic straps from Adidas (perfect slip-on style for running after little children or doing some incidental exercise) & a black nylon & textured vinyl crossbody bag from Nautica to carry all the essentials while keeping my hands free to scoot, child-wrangle, take photographs & explore in equal measure. Despite eschewing jewellery, I did remember the most important accessory for Queenslanders at this time of year... well, any time of year if I'm honest... a woven sunhat from Before Sunset that covered my face and a good portion of my shoulders.

Scroll down to see how it all unfolded...
