All dressed up to celebrate New Years Eve wearing a stunning floral jacquard midi dress with v-neckline & ruched waist from celebrated Australian designer Anthea Crawford, a pair of shiny black patent leather high heels from retro-inspired label Kitten D'Amour, a heavily beaded floral envelope clutch from Alannah Hill to carry a few essentials, a matching pair of silver bangles that a dear friend brought back from India many years ago & as a final flourish, a beaded pink & black hairclip from Lady Jayne that I picked up on a whim at my local Terry White Chemist... It just goes to show that you really can find awesome quality, funky fashion items absolutely anywhere if you look hard enough!

If you know me in real life, you'll know that I'm not one for all kinds of resolutions or promises or large sweeping statements about making changes or reaching goals every time another year rolls around... Personally, when I think about 2023, for me it's just about being kind. Yep, kind. I know the word itself gets a bad rap but honestly, it has endless merit. Kindness is underrated but it's powerful & yes, it can even be life-changing so this year, I'm going to be kind to both myself & others & just see where the journey takes me.

Sometimes all the best made plan can go awry due to unforeseen circumstances & the Christmas season is no exception. Due to an illness in the family, our Boxing Day get together had to be postponed for a week or so but I'm happy to finally be posting snippets from the day!

For the occasion - a lunch & present exchange in my aunt's beautiful back garden - I donned this stunning ivory textured chiffon tiered midi dress with tie straps from whimsical British label Sister Jane's premium diffusion line, Dream Sister Jane for that special, celebratory "swish" feeling, a pair of vibrant blue leather bow heels from a brand called Isabella that I discovered at the delightful Tides Boutique at Burleigh Heads while on holidays & carried a natural woven straw shoulder bag (pictured a little bit later on) from my local Target store to carry all the essentials including a face mask & hand sanitizer. When it came to jewellery, I wore some favourites - a stack of vintage Mexican silver bangles that some dear friends gave me & some matching vintage shell pieces in the form of a stretch bracelet & chunky bangle from the 1970s & finished the look with a pair of awesome cream plastic cat's eye sunglasses from the newly opened Ghanda store at Indooroopilly.
