So excited to share all the gorgeous pictures from this year's EKKA, which I attended (as tradition dictates) with my younger brother. For those who are unfamiliar, the Royal Queensland Show is Queensland's largest & best loved annual event, attracting nearly 500,000 people through the gates each year. It runs for 10 magical days in August at its original 1876 birthplace, the RNA Showgrounds, showcasing the best the Sunshine State has to offer including wood-chopping, high-diving, vegetable growing, baby animals, farm animals, domestic pets, live entertainment, a selection of gourmet & carnival foods including fairy floss, sideshow alley, showbags, educational displays, community activities & fireworks. Phew! No wonder I always come home so exhausted... particularly with the hot sun & westerly winds creating a rather unique atmospheric experience.

For the occasion, I donned a cute navy blue cotton broderie smock dress with voluminous short sleeves from Bohemian Traders; eclectic "tree of life" printed linen jacket from Be Louise that I picked up from a little boutique in The Strand, Coolangatta for those hippie vibes I so adore; a pair of comfortable yet stylish tan leather ankle boots with silver zippers from Renee Loves Frances that I was lucky enough to find in my size in their Bulimba store; black 40 denier nylon tights from Razzamatazz to ward off the morning chill in the air (admittedly they were off & in my bag after about 30 minutes... & my coat not long after!) & a round cane crossbody bag with tan vinyl strap from the Orion Springfield Central markets... all the better to keep my hands free for exploration! Jewellery was kept simple - a single, vintage chunky tribal resin bangle that was gifted to me by someone special.

Scroll down to see how it all unfolded...
