While buying new dresses is always a thrill, there's definitely something to be said for rediscovering an old favourite hidden in the back of the wardrobe. Case in point: this stunning black & gold baroque printed jacquard dress with black satin underlay & tulle hem from Chi Chi London via Asos, which I last wore on my birthday two years ago when all of my "night at the museum" dreams were fulfilled when I went to see Queensland Museum's Medieval Power After Dark

This time I was styling it up to attend an otherworldly performance of Greco-Roman mythology acted out with puppets (yes, really!) & really "played up" the whole black & gold colour scheme, adding a retro-styled cropped mohair cardigan from Kitten D'Amour, matte black leather pointy-toed heels with elastic straps from Wittner & a funky (yet so on-trend) black wooden clutch from Feather & Noise that I think will get quite a lot of wear as we enter the warmer months. Completing the look was a chunky, black resin hinged bangle with gold detailing from Samantha Wills, now more than ten years old & still going strong.
