Some cooler-than-expected winter days have given me the opportunity to play around with layering this year, which is always exciting for a fashion blogger. With this particular look, I've really "pushed the boat out," as they say, in a gorgeous lily-printed satin fit-to-flare dress-turned-pinafore from Anthea Crawford, black chiffon button-down shirt with three-quarter sleeves from Taking Shape (ideal as an "under" layer due to its soft tailoring) & 1960s inspired stiff black jacquard double-breasted jacket from Tokito. When it came to footwear, I eschewed black in favour of a shade of tan inherent in the print of the dress & wore these amazing handmade leather ankle boots with silver zippers that I picked up at the Renee Loves Frances boutique in Bulimba but kept my legs toasty with a pair of 40 denier nylon tights from Razzamatazz. Jewellery was kept simple - a funky Tibetan silver bracelet from a little boutique on the main street in Maleny.

Scroll down for a peek of the look without the jacket...
