Tree Lined

Dress: Bohemian Traders cotton voile
Sandals: Saltwater Sandals leather
Bag: Cotton On upcycled polyester quilting

Autumn is my favourite season in South East Queensland as the days are still quite warm but the nights are balmy & cool & there's often a beautiful breeze in the air. Unlike other places in Australia that have more defined seasons, in Queensland the trees are still quite green & haven't yet begun to lose their leaves or have them turn brown, so it's the optimum time for enjoying all of our beautiful parks. This particular day was no exception, when I took my time strolling up & down the tree-lined pathways in the park wearing a gorgeous red, orange, yellow & pale blue floral printed cotton voile shirred midi dress with voluminous sleeves from funky label Bohemian Traders, a pair of flat red leather Saltwater Sandals & a matching upcycled polyester quilted crossbody bag from Cotton On to carry all the essentials.

Lime

After working in retail for years, I know that green dresses just don't seem to sell as well in stores as other colours, particularly reds & blues... but for some reason, I simply adore green dress in all shades! This lime green cotton number from Bohemian Traders with its exaggerated puff sleeves, shirring across the bustline & tiered midi hemline is a case in point: I've styled it up for a trip to one of my favourite local cafes with a pair of white & tan leather sandals from Easy Steps via Myer, a floral cotton handbag with retro-style metal clasp & leather strap from delightful little boutique Embers & Twine at the "top of town" in Ipswich, a chunky vintage brass bangle that I picked up years ago from The Way We Wore Vintage Fair (apparently it came all the way from America) & finally, those green resin framed sunglasses from Cotton On for that added flourish.

Scroll down to see how it all unfolded, including some pictures fueled by piping hot chai latte...

Lately

All dressed up on a Friday afternoon in a bright & breezy floral print cotton shirred midi dress with oversized puff sleeves from Bohemian Traders, a pair of pink suede pointy-toed slingbacks with bow sides from retro-inspired label Kitten D'Amour & a whimsical "house" woven straw crossbody bag from Princess Highway to complete the look.

Wild Pansies... & a smattering of Disney characters, of course...

Relishing in what seems like the last of the particularly warm weather for the year in a gorgeous floral cotton cold-shoulder midi dress with flared A-line skirt & bodice ruffle (about 5 years old now & still going strong) from celebrated Australian designer Anthea Crawford, a pair of black leather & elastic strappy sandals from Wittner & a black vinyl 90s inspired shoulder bag from Sussan to carry all the essentials.

Sweetness & light in this stunning ensemble, worn to a recent event with an artist friend. Adorable cream & red rose embroidered jacquard smock dress from whimsical British label Sister Jane, lipstick red vegan leather deco heels with buttons & bows from Kitten D'Amour, woven straw bucket bag with diamantes from the delightful Oh Jo Jo Boutique in Ipswich & a vintage, handpainted Kashmiri bangle that I was given as a thoughtful birthday gift.

Fun & games (quite literally) with these two crazy jokers! So glad they're still young enough for me to absolutely WIPE THE FLOOR WITH THEM at Mario Kart!

Businesswear meets casual chic in this blue & white striped cotton high-neck shift dress from (sadly now defunct) label Wellington Factory. I've styled it up quickly with a pair of navy faux snakeskin patent leather pointy-toe flats with bows (phew... say that three times fast!) from my local Florsheim shoes for a touch of daytime shine.

Spending some time at the "top of town" in Ipswich with a dear friend - first having a spot of lunch at Fourth Child Restaurant before heading to ShortBlack Coffee Co for a chai latte & Vintage Advantage for a spot of antique shopping - wearing a funky swirl print cotton poplin 60s style shift dress with dagger collar from Black Friday via Dangerfield... & a cute little "trip down memory lane" Mr Squiggle badge that a dear friend found & posted to me because they know how much I used to utterly adore the show (my favourite character was the cranky blackboard because, let's face it, I've always loved a good curmudgeon).

Living out all my 90s teenager manic-pixie-dreamgirl fantasies in this amazing little green satin & tulle tiered number (complete with pink satin rosette) from Asos, styled up with a pair of black leather & mixed plaid pointy-toed slingback stiletto heels with bows from Wittner & a boxy black vinyl handbag from French Connection to carry all the essentials.

Dressed up for the dentist in a funky zombie rabbit print satin slip dress with tie back detailing from Black Friday via Dangerfield, a pair of black vegan leather dual buckle heels from Kitten D'Amour, black vinyl 90s shoulder bag from Sussan to carry all the essentials like tissues for my tears (just kidding.... kinda), a stack of vintage Mexican silver bangles given to me by dear friends & a vintage silver bangle from 20th Century Antiques & Collectibles given to me by my younger brother a few birthdays ago.

Perfect colour palette...

Flashback a few years to this gorgeous ensemble - a funky navy & cream printed elastane empire-line draped maxi dress that I picked up at a weird & wonderful little boutique on the Gold Coast, a pair of punctured leather lace-up heeled sandals from Novo, a beige vinyl handbag from Milleni at Strandbags to carry everything (long before Covid so no need for a mask or sanitizer, thank goodness), leather & wood watch from Montville Woods Gallery & an armful of sparkly beaded bangles that a dear friend brought back from a trip to India.

In my happy place (a department store changeroom for those who may be wondering) wearing a stunning heavily floral embroidered mesh midi dress with elastane lining from Australian designer Sacha Drake, a pair of black leather lace-up heels from Jo Mercer for a modicum of height, black leather shoulder bag from funky boutique Pigeonhole & matching rose gold & beige leather watch, rose gold & diamante bangle, & rose gold & crystal pinkie ring from Mimco, gifted by some dear friends.

Can't resist a gingerbread treat!

Feeling a little bit like a cheepy chick in this "acquired taste" of a party dress from Asos' premium diffusion line, Asos Edition. Not only have I swapped the shoestring straps for thicker, embroidered options, I've styled it up with a 1920s flapper twist & I utterly adore it! The funky cream patent & black suede t-bar heels with buttons & bows are from Kitten D'Amour & the black velvet knot bag is from a Spanish boutique called Swinging Chicks Shop on Etsy.
