Although I didn't attend as many Spring Racing Carnival events this year as I normally would due to a packed work schedule, it didn't make my outfit for the "Race That Stops A Nation" or the raceday celebrations any less special! For the occasion - bubbly & a bit of a flutter for charity - I wore a stunning navy blue & silver floral jacquard fit-to-flare gown with asymmetrical neckline from Australian designer Sacha Drake, styled up with a pair of black leather & elastic gladiator-style stiletto heels from Wittner for an unexpected bohemian touch, a silver art-deco style silver & black beaded envelope clutch from Alannah Hill that my parents gave me as a birthday present a few years ago, a black mesh headband with rosette detailing from Lovisa (hiding in a box in the back of my closet for at least ten years, which is why I try to hold on to as much stuff as possible... you never know when it will come in handy for a look) to continue to evoke the "roaring twenties" vibe & finally, two chunky vintage silver bangles that a dear friend brought back from a trip to India to complete the look & add some daytime shine.

Tree Lined

Dress: Bohemian Traders cotton voile
Sandals: Saltwater Sandals leather
Bag: Cotton On upcycled polyester quilting

Autumn is my favourite season in South East Queensland as the days are still quite warm but the nights are balmy & cool & there's often a beautiful breeze in the air. Unlike other places in Australia that have more defined seasons, in Queensland the trees are still quite green & haven't yet begun to lose their leaves or have them turn brown, so it's the optimum time for enjoying all of our beautiful parks. This particular day was no exception, when I took my time strolling up & down the tree-lined pathways in the park wearing a gorgeous red, orange, yellow & pale blue floral printed cotton voile shirred midi dress with voluminous sleeves from funky label Bohemian Traders, a pair of flat red leather Saltwater Sandals & a matching upcycled polyester quilted crossbody bag from Cotton On to carry all the essentials.

"What we see & what we seem are but a dream within a dream..."

Taking the opportunity, on an overcast morning in Queensland, to truly lean into the atmospheric nature of darkened daytime skies & a tree-lined park walkway... giving off ghostly "Picnic at Hanging Rock" style vibes in this stunning floral embroidered tiered midi dress with puff sleeves from British label Pieces. I've styled it up with a pair of white leather strappy heels from Wittner for a modicum of height, a painted cane handbag from Renee Loves Frances to carry all the essentials, a green jade bangle from some street markets in Shanghai (given to me by my younger brother) & a green jaded beaded bracelet from Wanfu jade to complete the look.
