All dressed up for an event in my beloved River City wearing this absolutely stunning blue & mauve floral silk burnout wrap dress with jersey slip from Brisbane label Sacha Drake. I've styled it for the springtime with a pair of bright mauve vegan leather slingback heels with rounded toes from hipster-cult-label Gorman, a secondhand woven silk ikat print handbag from Vinnies Boonah to carry all the essentials & some favourite silver pieces - a chunky art deco "wave" hinged bangle from the lovely ladies at Precious Stones Jewellers (my favourite place to purchase sublime jewellery pieces in Brisbane) & a single vintage silver bangle from 20th Century Antiques & Collectibles on the other wrist to complete the look.

A few quick little snaps from a casual morning spent enjoying coffee with a friend. I'm decked out in a gorgeous monochrome butterfly & flower stretch lace ruched midi dress from Australian designer label Anthea Crawford, styled up with an indigo denim jacket from my local Big W store for warmth, black matte leather pointy-toed booties from Wittner for a modicum of height, a black leather & natural woven straw handbag from Witchery to carry all the essentials & an oversized pair of faux tortoiseshell sunglasses from Sportsgirl to keep the sun out of my eyes. When it came to jewellery, I chose some favourite silver pieces - a stack of vintage Mexican silver bangles that some dear friends brought back from overseas & a single, vintage silver bangle from 20th Century Antiques & Collectibles that my younger brother bought me as a birthday gift a few years ago to complete the look.

Flower Garland in the Garden

*

Dress: Kitten D'Amour cotton
Heels: Wittner leather, elastic
Bag: Oh Jo Jo Boutique woven straw, diamantes
Watch: Gift, Swatch resin, neoprene

*

Sometimes, there's nothing more nostalgic than a sweet little floral cotton dress on a hot, hot day. Bonus points if it has box pleats & those darling little bows at the shoulders. This gorgeous number from retro-inspired Australian label Kitten D'Amour - the "La Luna Floral Garland Stripe Dress" - is distilled sunshine, lollipops, daisy chains & all the good things about summertime's past & I absolutely adored styling it up for a morning spent enjoying a milkshake & hot chips at a local cafe with my father. I'm waltzing around in a pair of flesh tone leather & elastic lace up gladiator stiletto heels from Wittner for a modicum of height, a natural woven straw pouch bag with diamantes from the delightful Oh Jo Jo Boutique at the "top of town" in Ipswich & a Modigliani printed, limited edition neoprene & resin Swatch watch that some dear friends gave me for my birthday to complete the look.

In The Navy

Booties: Wittner patent leather
Tights: Kitten D'Amour fishnet
Bag: French Connection vinyl, pompoms
Bangles: Tree of Life brass, silver

With the warmer weather we've been experiencing, it's hard to believe that the cooler days were only a few weeks ago, when you had to carry a jacket around with you in case of a change in the weather or the sun going under a cloud & don tights to keep your legs feeling toasty-warm underneath your dresses... Case in point is this particular ensemble, worn to a performance of a play accompanied by a dear friend in my beloved River City, which comprises of this utterly stunning floral textured jacquard midi dress in shades of navy, blue & gold with a thoroughly 1930s silhouette (high, molded sleeves & ruffled hemline) from cult-classic fashion label Gorman, styled up with an indigo denim jacket in a 1980s cut from Australian designer Bianca Spender, a pair of navy patent leather heeled booties with pointy toes from Wittner for a modicum of height, flesh-tone fishnet tights from the retro-inspired Kitten D'Amour, a navy vinyl circular crossbody bag with pompom strap from French Connection to carry all the essentials & a trio of studded bangles in brass & silver from my local Tree of Life store, purchased at least ten years ago & still going strong.
