Enamored with these beauties from my friend Matilda, who is currently holidaying in Italy & spending most of her days swanning about in the fashion capital of Milan... 

I have mixed the first avante garde design - shoulder pads! mullet hem! gold mesh side cut-outs! exposed utilitarian zipper! - with equally tough accessories (pictured in detail below): an envelope clutch with gold hardware, chunky hinged bangle, leather wrap bracelet & molded platform wedges without tights. In all honesty, I feel as though I wouldn't be out of place on the set of Xena: Warrior Princess - and I love it! 

For the second look, less avante garde in shape but no less striking with its laser cut pattern (see below for a more detailed view), I have played with textures, mixing the leather shift with a crepe leopard print long-line blazer, suede wedge platform booties, chunky hinged bangle & tasseled gold necklace to create a feeling of richness.
