On the very first day of the school holidays, I'm sharing pictures from a recent day trip to one of my all time favourite destinations in South East Queensland - the Coolangatta/Greenmount/Rainbow Bay area of the beautiful Gold Coast. Despite the overcast weather & any debris left by the recent rain event, it was as magical as ever down by the water & being able to enjoy a long, leisurely walk with toes in the sand followed by a delicious takeaway lunch of fish & chips in the park to celebrate my father's birthday was something truly special after years of staying away due to the pandemic situation. For this welcome trip to my "happy place," I wore a gorgeous white cotton tiered midi dress with shirred bodice, sweet tie straps & exposed gold back zipper from cool-girl Aussie label Aje, a pair of purple & beige embossed leather Birkenstock sandals with oversized gold buckles, a natural woven straw crossbody bag from Etsy to carry all the essentials while keeping my hands free & finally, a matching gold & purple semi-precious stone cuff & cocktail ring set from the delightful Thousand Island Dressing boutique in Paddington.

Scroll down to see how the day unfolded...

About to climb the Greenmount Beach steps to the "mountain walk" wearing a yellow & white floral print cotton sunhat from Ghanda with my oversized, faux tortoiseshell sunglasses from Sportsgirl hooked over the strap of my handbag...

Hot & Salty Crumbed Fish & Chunky Chips with Lemon from Tata Gina's at Coolangatta... the ideal fare for a picnic lunch by the sand & the water...
