The older I've gotten, the more I've come to appreciate what people often refer to as the more "feminine" things in life - the colour pink, florals, dresses - despite still being the grunge-loving, Daria-obsessed, Nirvana-worshipping teenager I once was underneath it all. There are so many different facets of anyone's personality & I intend to learn wholeheartedly into all of them. Case in poing: the utterly divine pink floral jacquard bias-cut midi dress with large floral corsage from Australian designer Sacha Drake that I wore to a recent ballet performance of "Lady of the Camellias" with a dear friend. I've styled it up for QPAC with a pair of beige leather & elastic stiletto gladiator heels from Wittner for a modicum of height, a natural woven paper slouch bag (there's that grunge aesthetic rearing its head...) from Cotton On for that insouciant little nod to Queensland in the summertime, a silver hinged bangle that I picked up from the Oxfam Shop that used to be at Indooroopilly & wore to my high school formal many, many years ago & that I still cherish, a handmade pewter, Swarovski crystal & beaded cuff from Gian Paolo Maria in Paris via the amazing Lannah Dunn jewellery store & matching silver & crystal cocktail ring from Swarovski that my family gave me as 30th birthday presents for that extra special finishing touch.
