Finally sharing all of the absolutely glorious pictures of what I wore to attend a Teddy Bears' Picnic to herald the beginning of the spring/summer season & celebrate the classic novel "Brideshead Revisited" (1945) by Evelyn Waugh's 80th anniversary with some dear friends! I had such a marvellous time that I simply had to keep the festivities going when I returned home to my own garden & decided to recreate the moment by sharing a spot of tea under the mango tree with my very own antique teddy bear. For the occasion I donned a sweet green & pink ditsy floral cotton prairie dress from Australian slow-fashion label Ankoa, styled up with an incredibly oversized green denim jacket with white contrast stitching by a label called DYLN that I picked up last year from Platypus Shoes, a pair of black matte & patent leather loafers with tassels from Pitillos via the delightful Obsession Shoes at the "top of town" in Ipswich & a natural woven straw handbag with black leather clasp from Witchery tied with a pink nylon scarf from That Shop for an added flourish. When it came to accessories, I chose some favourite silver pieces in the form of a stack of vintage Mexican silver bangles that some dear friends brought back from an overseas trip a few years ago on one wrist, a single vintage silver bangle that my brother bought me from 20th Century Antiques & Collectibles on the other & finally, a large straw boater hat with black grosgrain ribbon tie from Forever New on my head for that jaunty finishing touch!
