Finally sharing pictures of the gorgeous ensemble that I wore to see the inimitable Sir Paul McCartney perform in Brisbane at the end of last year. For a serious Beatles & Wings fan, this was the ultimate dream concert & I dressed accordingly, donning a stunning new cream & black geometric print linen bias-cut midi dress with front side split, cowl neckline & waist belt with chunky gold buckle from Australian label Aje to both look great & attempt to "beat the heat & humidity" as much as possible. When it came to styling, I added a pair of stone leather lace-up heels from Jo Mercer for a modicum of height, a matching stone vinyl pouch bag that I found at my local TK Maxx store for under $20 that worked because I could hold it close to me when needed but wear as a crossbody bag when I wanted to have my hands free to dance, a chunky, vintage gold elephant necklace (that I suspect was a belt at one time) from the amazing Vintage Advantage at the "top of town" in Ipswich & finally, a black resin hinged bangle with gold & onyx detailing from Samantha Wills that was, in fact, a "gift with purchase" of a subscription to "In Style" magazine more than twenty years ago!

All the retro-inspired pictures of an outfit that I styled up to attend a performance of The Pink Floyd Experience tribute show at QPAC recently. Honestly, tribute shows seem to cop a lot of flack for the musicians involved taking on the persona of others instead of creating their own vision & releasing their own music but quite frankly, some of the best music (in my opinion) comes from the late 1960s & 1970s & many of the bands/artists have unfortunately passed away, feel they are now "too old" to tour or have broken up so if other talented singers, guitarists & drummers didn't take up the mantle, these songs that truly meant something to the world would cease to be enjoyed live & that would be a real shame, especially at a time when the issues inherent in our world seem to mirror many "hot button" topics from the aforementioned eras. The passionate eleven-piece band & dedicated lighting professionals who tirelessly work to create this transcendent three-hour-long salute to Pink Floyd are second-to-none & if you happen to close your eyes during the show, you would feel as if you were hearing the real thing... a rare treat that I'm glad I was able to experience. 

For the occasion, I wore a true vintage woven polyblend/lurex maxi dress that was gifted to me by a dear friend, hippie-luxe camel wool cropped jacket with white embroidery detailing from Bohemian Traders, black leather pointy-toed heels with elastic straps from Wittner, a vinyl crossbody bag with gold hardware from Forever New to carry all the essentials while keeping my hands free (one of the best tips for concert-goers) & a funky gold bangle with charms stack from American label Alex & Ani.

Finally sharing all the pictures of the gorgeous ensemble that I styled up to attend Let It Be: The Concert Experience where five of Australia's finest vocalists - John Paul Young, Glen Shorrock, Russel Morris, Doug Parkinson & Jack Jones - performed two hours of the most popular Lennon/McCartney songs as voted by the audience, including Yesterday, Norwegian Wood, Hey Jude & many more! I'm wearing a stunning, flower-power-inspired black floral embroidered lace fit to flare dress with cold shoulder detailing & high/low hemline from Anthea Crawford cinched with a stretchy patent leather belt from HellBunny that I found at That Shop in Carindale, military red velvet jacket with gold trimming & brass buttons galore from Tree of Life for those Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band vibes, shiny black patent ankle boots from Wittner & black suede roll-top clutch from Portmans to carry all the essentials. When it came to jewellery, I kept it simple yet statement-making with an oversized, handmade black ceramic heart cocktail ring from Melbourne artist Studio Leanne to complete the look.
