The final day of the Easter Long Weekend is always the quietest & this Easter Monday was no different. Despite the Covid 19 restrictions, I still dressed up in this gorgeous blue & pink floral twill fit-to-flare dress from Aussie designer Anthea Crawford, a retro-inspired baby pink fuzzy polyblend cropped cardigan from Kitten D'Amour, a pair of pink leather lace up heels from Jo Mercer to add height to my five foot frame & finally, a cutesy plastic bunny head hairclip made from clear plastic & filled with star-shaped rainbow glitter from Seed Heritage that some dear friends gifted me to remember them this socially-distanced Eastertide. Here's to sharing the season with our family & friends in 2021...

Hippity Hoppity (part 3)

Dress: Review twill
Cardigan: Review knit
Heels: Carvela by Kurt Geiger suede
Headpiece: Gift, Nash & Willow wire, faux flowers, foliage
Saints Bracelets: Gift, wood beads

The penultimate day of the Easter Long Weekend is also my absolute favourite... not least due to the fact that the Easter Bunny has visited overnight to leave some yummy chocolate goodies to sample but the fact that Jesus Christ has conquered death & risen from the grave, one of the most important aspects of the Christian religion! My outfit of choice melds both the secular & religious observances of the day & is "styled up" around this stunning navy, pink & yellow floral twill fit-to-flare dress with matching mustard-yellow knitted cropped cardigan from "girly" Aussie label Review. I've added a pair of navy suede peeptoe heels from Carvela by Kurt Geiger for height, an armful of wooden square-beaded bracelets in vibrant colours that depict various religious figures & Catholic Saints (gifted by some dear friends) & finally, a handmade faux floral headpiece with bunny ears from the delightful Nash & Willow to complete the look & provide a little whimsy despite the tyranny of Covid 19 social distancing changing all of our plans & keeping us apart.

After a traditional Scottish breakfast (fish only) on Good Friday, it was time for our twist on a Full English on Easter Sunday...

Secret Stash... should keep me going for about 48 hours ;)

My Easter Tree
I had never really heard much about this particular phenomenon until I met some darling European friends who always celebrate Eastertide this way & I decided to try it for myself... I absolutely love the way it looks & the happiness it brings...

I'm so excited to be sharing a peek at this year's Easter Long Weekend celebrations with all of you lovely readers over four consecutive blog posts, the first of which is obviously Good Friday commemorations. Granted, things looked much different this year, with many of our beloved traditions going "out the window" for the foreseeable future due to the Covid 19 lockdown but nonetheless, we steadfastly observed both the religious & secular aspects of Eastertide with a lot of prayer & a little help from modern technology & social media.

We still indulged in our traditional Scottish breakfast of Salmon Mornay & Hot Crossed Buns (for three people this year, rather than last year's table full of fifteen) & I still dressed up for the occasion in the customary light/pastel shades, donning a darling blue & pink floral cotton sateen paneled fit-to-flare dress with v-neckline, cutesy cap sleeves & flared skirt from Aussie designer Anthea Crawford, a pair of baby pink vegan suede slingbacks with pointy-toes & little bows from retro-inspired label Kitten D'Amour & finally, a kitschy "bunny" brooch with sweet little red cheeks wearing a furry coat & glittered muff from Erstwilder to complete the look.
