Finally sharing all the pictures of this beautiful embroidered & sequinned mesh v-neck midi dress with flared hem & sweet cap sleeves from a label called McDuggal (via the amazing Sacha Drake store at Queens Plaza) that I wore to an archaeological/anthropological lecture series a little earlier this year which, for those of you who may not know, is one of my all-time favourite hobbies outside of all things fashion. Anyway, I've styled the dress up here with a dainty black stretch lace bralette from Tree of Life for modesty purposes, a pair of chunky black leather lace-up heels from Jo Mercer, a boxy black vinyl & suede handbag with oversized silver handles from French Connection (now Unison) to carry all the essentials & kept it simple with the jewellery - owing to the utterly divine embellishments on the dress - by merely adding a pair of vintage Indian silver bangles that a dear friend brought back from a trip a few years ago now to complete the look & add a touch of bohemian-inspired daytime shine.

Just a quick little post on this rainy Sunday afternoon, perhaps to give other Queenslanders some style inspiration for the coming week ahead, full of (slightly) cooler temperatures & overcast skies. This floral embroidered mesh baby doll dress with its three-quarter-sleeves & above-the-knee hemline is from chain-store Forever New (on sale & under $100) & is absolutely gorgeous, particularly when paired with this black elastane slip from Taking Shape, matte leather pointy-toed heels from Wittner & vintage-sari patchwork envelope clutch from Tree of Life. A full-on style statement like this doesn't require much jewellery, so I went for simple yet effective with jade pieces that my younger brother kindly brought back from China for me.
