Antiquing

If you read this blog often, it's no secret that I absolutely adore antiquing. In fact, it's my favourite hobby. One of the places that I love to go is the Ipswich Antique Centre for a mix of vintage sellers in the wonderful, atmospheric, renovated 1985 historic church building & a chat with owners Heather & John. A recent trip - seen in the mirror selfies above where I'm wearing a red striped cotton midi dress with bow ties from a label called Boho that I picked up from Birdhouse Laidley, a knitted cropped vest from Yeti & Yak at West End & black leather handbag from the funky Pigeonhole boutique to carry all the essentials - yielded some beautiful finds & I've been busy displaying them in their new home!

Going To Town

Sharing all the pictures from a bright & sunny morning spent exploring the downtown area of historical Ipswich with my mother. Beginning at the "Top of Town" with its beautiful range of boutiques, we then traversed the recently revamped Nicholas Street precinct - ending up in the gardens outside the new Children's Library before heading down the hill & all the way over to the Ipswich Antique Centre in what was once the Uniting Church Central Memorial Hall on East Street for a browse around the bric-a-brac & heirloom furniture pieces.

For the occasion, I wore a gorgeous brown & navy checked cotton midi dress with shirred bodice, leg-of-mutton sleeves & tiered hemline from British high street fashion stalwart Topshop, styled up with a beautiful patchwork-style navy, black & white jacket from Temptations Boutique at Winston Glades, a pair of matte & patent leather ankle boots with buttons (otherwise known as my "Anne of Green Gables" boots) from Wittner, 40 denier nylon tights from Razzamatazz to keep my legs feeling toasty-warm & a black satin & vinyl woven-look crossbody bag from Country Road to carry all the essentials.

Ipswich Antique Centre

Sharing some pictures of one of my most beloved wintertime dresses in front of a favourite haunt of mine, the Ipswich Antique Centre. Occupying the heritage-listed 1895 Congregational Church in East Street, Ipswich (just down from the Ipswich Hospital & across from the heritage-listed Old Courthouse that now serves as a speech & drama venue), it contains multitudes including vintage & estate jewellery, bric-a-brac, antique furniture, pottery, collectibles, retro kitsch as well as a plethora of restoration products & is the ideal place to enjoy a leisurely browse on a cold, bleak morning. As previously intimated, I'm wearing a gorgeous printed chiffon midi dress with high neckline, shirred bodice & sweetly puffed sleeves with elasticated cuffs from celebrated Aussie fashion label Witchery that I absolutely adored styling up in 2021 & again this year - this time with a pair of light tan suede pointy-toed mules from Wittner & a tan vinyl crossbody bag with wooden clasp from the delightful Soul Nook Collective's boutique in Marburg to carry all the essentials.
