One of my all-time favourite places to go for a day trip in the wintertime is the beautiful & historic township of Laidley. Surrounded by rolling bush countryside & farmland, it has a main street full of historic buildings (including the post office & tourist attraction Das Neumanhaus), sweet old storefronts, gorgeous little cafes & bakeries & a plethora of sweet fashion boutiques that are a pleasure to browse around in... & maybe take a few things home! On this particular occasion, my cousin, her son & I spent the morning looking around - including a trip to the incredibly large & well-stocked toy & hobby store where some of us may have indulged our Lego obsesson - before heading to the delightful Grace Eats for a leisurely lunch together.

For the occasion, I donned a purple & tan floral ramie prairie-style mini dress from a label called Lorraine that I picked up from Oh Jo Jo Boutique at the "top of town" in Ipswich, a pair of "crazy horse" brown suede/leather Dr Martens brogues from Platypus Shoes, black 40 denier nylon tights from Razzamatazz to keep my legs feeling toasty warm (stylist tip: get the largest size available if you don't want them to stick to your legs when the weather warms up slightly during the day; ideal for the unpredictable Queensland weather), a funky brown suede crossbody bag from Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary to carry all the essentials & a chunky gold Mimco bracelet that I found secondhand at my local Lifeline store to complete the look & add some daytime shine.

BLT Burger: Highly Recommended
Only second to their absolutely divine Broccolini Salad that's (sadly yet understandably) only available during the summer months...

Finally sharing all the gorgeous pictures from a recent family dinner in Yerongpilly at the imaginatively titled Mad Fish Restaurant, followed by a cheeky cookies & cream gelato for dessert from Amoroso Gelateria! For the occasion, I wore a gorgeous white, blue & gold baroque floral print ramie long-sleeved maxi-length shirtdress with belt from a label called Lorraine that I picked up at the delightful Oh Jo Jo Boutique, a pair of black matte & patent leather loafers with tassels from Pitillos via Obsession Shoes at the "top of town" in Ipswich & a black leather shoulder bag from funky boutique Pigeonhole to carry all the essentials. When it came to jewellery, I chose a beautiful silver necklace from Prouds Jewellers (given to me by my parents on my very last day of school in grade 12) with a silver & amber pendant from Trottie Becke & a matching silver & amber cocktail ring from the lovely ladies at Precious Stones Jewellers to complete the look.

In my happy place, slowly browsing around the boutiques, vintage stores & op shops at the "top of town" in Ipswich on a sunny Winter morning, piping hot chai latte in tow, not thinking about anything bothersome like politics, the state of the world, the economy, the future for a little while... As usual, I'm dressed appropriately for the occasion wearing a stunning black, purple & tan floral ramie prairie-style mini dress by a label called Lorraine that I picked up from the delightful Oh Jo Jo Boutique, a pair of shiny chocolate brown patent leather brogues from Melbourne label Alfie & Evie that I discovered at Obsession Shoes, a 1940s-inspired natural woven straw handbag with black resin beaded handle from Kitten D'Amour to carry all the essentials & some of my most beloved silver pieces - a stack of vintage Mexican silver bangles & a single thicker vintage silver bangle from 20th Century Antiques & Collectibles for that final touch of daytime shine.
