Finally sharing all of the beautiful pictures from a morning spent enjoying a piping hot chai latte by the meandering Brisbane River at Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary's Riverside Cafe & a leisurely walk in the sunshine (taking in lungfuls of fresh air & eucalyptus scent) before changing my shoes & heading off to some appointments in the city... I'm wearing a stunning oriental floral print jacquard midi-length shift dress with lace & ruffle trim back detailing & gold sequinned flower brooches from Trelise Cooper, a pair of lime canvas low-top sneakers with rubber soles from Converse, black 40 denier nylon tights from Razzamatazz to keep my legs feeling toasty warm & a black leather shoulder bag from funky boutique Pigeonhole to carry all the essentials including the ever-present face mask & hand sanitizer. When it came to jewellery, I opted for an eclectic green resin bangle with gold accents & matching large green resin cocktail ring from celebrated Australian duo Dinosaur Designs to complete the look.

Finding Sanctuary

Dress: Witchery cotton
Sneakers: Frankie 4 Footwear leather, laces
Bag: Forever New vinyl with silver hardware

As Brisbane begins a new lockdown thanks to the utter selfishness of some community members & a veritable landslide of poor planning on behalf of the federal government, I thought I would share some beautiful, calming photographs from a recent morning spent exploring my happy place, Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary, with my parents. Honestly, I can't express how much I had missed the greenery, the animals, the smell of eucalyptus & the views of the meandering Brisbane River & although the Covid response has wrought many changes (most obviously the method of feeding the lorikeets in the morning & late afternoon), it was still just as wonderful as ever; a sanctuary in every sense of the word.

For the occasion, I wore a gorgeous paisley-printed cotton mini smock dress with puff sleeves & ruffled yoke neckline from Aussie label Witchery, a pair of comfortable yet stylish blue pink leather sneakers from Frankie 4 Footwear & a white vinyl crossbody bag with silver hardware from Forever New to carry all the essentials while leaving my hands free for kangaroo feeding, koala cuddling & coffee guzzling... you know, the important stuff...
