It may be right at the end of the Easter school holidays but if you're looking for something to do in the Brisbane area that's fun & "outdoorsy" while still being rather quaint & low key, here's an idea for you: the Cleveland Heritage Trail. After seeing it mentioned a few times online, my younger brother & I decided to "give it a go" a few weekends ago while the weather was cooler & overcast & would recommend it for those who just want a little, half day outing that doesn't cost a great deal but gives them a chance to breathe in some fresh, salty air.
We parked the car in one of the little "visitor" areas beside the road (near the site of the first flying boat landing in Redland waters) where there were also toilet facilities & a pair of park benches & made that our "base," walking both DOWN the street to see St Paul's Anglican Church (circa 1873) the first example of Gothic church architecture in the state & Queensland's Oldest Banyan Tree before doubling back on ourselves & heading UP the street towards the Old Cleveland Lighthouse (circa 1864) passing the marina, fisherman, the apparently haunted Old Courthouse Restaurant, art galleries, parks full of happy children & off-leash dogs before stopping for a snack at The Lighthouse Restaurant with its wrap-around views of Moreton Bay.

For the occasion, I wore a "sun smart" sweet cream & brown embroidered polka dot cotton smock dress with puff sleeves & a mini-length tiered hemline from Seed Heritage, comfortable cream leather sneakers with white elastic straps from Adidas, a pair of grey ribbed sockettes from Bonds, a natural woven straw crossbody bag from a little boutique that seems to no longer exist on Etsy to carry all the essentials (hand sanitizer & mask) & finally, a brown, cream & white woven straw sunhat from Before Sunset (purchased from a market stall at the EKKA years ago now & still going strong) that created cohesion & really brought the whole outfit together.
Sampling a little of the delicacies on offer: a Lemon Meringue Pie, Devonshire Tea (scones with jam & cream) & a Toasted Ham & Cheese Croissant...
