Lately

See what's been happening around here lately...

Relishing the cooler mornings in a beautiful navy & white floral embroidered mesh midi dress with red accents from Asos Edition, styled up with an 80s inspired denim jacket from Bianca Spender, vibrant lipstick red vegan leather deco heels from Kitten D'Amour, red upcycled vinyl shoulder bag from Country Road to carry all the essentials & an armful of vintage Mexican silver bangles that were given to me by some dear friends.

Little tableau that brings me joy... hard to believe that this small crocodile died & became a piece of taxidermy over one hundred years ago... they truly are modern dinosaurs...

*

Throwback to a simpler, pre-Covid time... I'm posing underneath the mango tree wearing a floral neoprene midi dress with faux wrap-around skirt & racer back from Portmans (that I still have today & wear surprisingly frequently), a cropped black leather jacket from Just Jeans that's still going strong, a pair of black patent loafers from Wittner & a black patent handbag from Novo to carry all the essentials. Awesome oversized shell & silver ring is from the delightful Thousand Island Dressing at Paddington.

Spending the day with my mother & some special little people wearing a gorgeous pink, white & green ombre cotton puff-sleeve midi dress with crewel-work embroidery & ribbon ties on the back from Asos Edition, a pair of tan leather & elastic sandals from Wittner, a tan vinyl crossbody bag with wooden clasp from Soul Nook Collective in Marburg, a vintage silver bangle from (sadly now defunct) 20th Century Antiques & Collectibles at Coolangatta & a stack of gifted vintage Mexican silver bangles to complete the look.

RIP Angela Lansbury (1925-2022)
Forever Egglantine Price, a good witch fighting the Nazis in my all-time favourite film, "Bedknobs & Broomsticks" (1971)

Another quick look back at outfits from yesteryear that I had inadvertently forgotten to post... This one is a gorgeous bronze & black striped silk midi dress with cut-out back detailing from a little boutique that used to be in Brisbane's Wintergarden (the name escapes me... I can't help but think it was Olive Home but I'm not sure), styled up with a black pleather waterfall jacket from Zara, leopard print suede lace-up stiletto heels with matching shoulder bag from Nine West & an oversized gold & diamante bow ring from the V&A Museum in London.

Cocktails, anyone? More sartorial throwbacks with a gorgeous navy twill knee-length dress with black sequinned lace & flesh-tone mesh bodice cut-out detailing (label unknown), a pair of black patent leather heeled ankle boots from Wittner for some daytime shine, a black textured vinyl handbag from Piper to carry all the essentials, a chunky silver hinged bangle from Wallace Bishop & finally, matching silver & onyx charm bangle & ring from Pandora.

On our way to the Vintage & Collectibles Fair at the local showgrounds wearing none other than celebrated Australian designer Anthea Crawford! Clearly we both have a penchant for bright & breezy florals for springtime...

All dressed up & ready to head into the River City wearing a gorgeous maxi dress from Anthea Crawford's stunning collaboration with The Van Gogh Museum comprising of a black lace bodice with three-quarter-length sleeves & pleated waistline & "Butterflies & Poppies" (1889) printed silk maxi skirt, styled up with a funky upycled & handpainted kimono (gifted to me by a dear friend), a pair of black matte leather ankle boots from Wittner, 40 denier nylon tights from Razzamatazz, a black vinyl shoulder bag from Sussan to carry all the essentials & a pair of chunky, boho silver & semi-precious stone rings from Tree of Life to complete the look.

Clearly an avid dollhouse collector...

And the obsession begins...
Part 1 of a trilogy & I'm already hooked!

*

Afternoons in the park with these awesome foam gliders from Kmart. Honestly, I wholeheartedly recommend them - so much fun for under $10, which is practically unheard of these days.

*

New obsession... I'll have the Coconut Milk Tea, please...

*

Heading out in this beautiful floral twill midi dress from Anthea Crawford, black mesh cardigan with three-quarter-sleeves & tie waist from (now defunct boutique) Leaf, black matte leather ankle boots from Wittner & a black leather & natural woven straw handbag from Witchery to complete the look.

Unexpected little gifts through the post!

Appreciating this soft shade of mauve...

Favourite film of all time ("The Goonies" runs a very close second, truth be told & "The Secret Garden" a very close third) & absolute FAVOURITE Lego set I've ever put together!

*

Rugged up for an event in the River City wearing this sublime soft floral jacquard mini smock dress with puff sleeves & tie neckline from whimsical British label Sister Jane, a black jersey skivvy from Miss Shop at Myer, black matte leather ankle boots from Wittner for height, 40 denier nylon tights from Razzamatazz to keep my legs & knees (!) warm, a blush pink velvet knot bag from Shein to carry all the essentials (it's surprisingly roomy... the TARDIS of bags, if you will...) & a funky, resin brooch in the shape of an art deco orex from Erstwilder to complete the look.

Saving it for my summertime beach holiday... if I can wait that long...

Another day, another utterly divine little number from the Anthea Crawford x Van Gogh Museum collaboration - this time "Vase with Chinese Asters & Gladioli" (1886) printed onto a pleated mesh midi dress with long sleeves & styled up with a cropped black leather jacket from Just Jeans, black matte leather ankle boots from Wittner, 40 denier nylon tights from Razzamatazz & a black vinyl shoulder bag from Sussan.
