Oh Christmas Tree (part 1)

It's the most wonderful time of the year, so they say, & I'm so excited to finally be sharing all of the pictures of this year's Penny Family Christmas display with all you lovely readers! For 2019, all of the decorations - heirloom, kitschy, modern & new - are distributed throughout three faux-pine Christmas trees of varying shapes, sizes & colours as well as organised into small tableaux around the house depicting Nativity scenes, the Holy Family & even Santa's Village complete with sleigh, reindeer, sledding & carolers, underneath a trio of retro-inspired paper-cut snowflakes, gifted to me by a dear friend. Whatever your circumstances & regardless of how you may be celebrating the holiday, I hope that you find some sense of joy, comfort & inspiration from the following pictures...

When it comes to Christmas decorating, more is clearly more! Personally, I like the tree to be absolutely BURSTING with colourful baubles, tinsel & decorations made from all manner of materials, some with strong sentimental meaning & some that just bring a wry smile to the faces of visitors. It's actually pretty lucky that I'm no minimalist because I endeavour to keep each & every decoration given by family members, friends & even the children that my mother teaches or has taught in her many primary school classes over the years, joyfully positioning them on the tree(s) year after year to keep memories alive & create something that is hopefully both whimsical & beautiful.

Keep scrolling to see even more of the decorations & take a peek at the further two Christmas trees...

Miss Penny in the backyard with the dress!

All dressed up to play the "Ingenue" at a recent 1930s inspired Murder Mystery Party & feeling like I've just stepped off the beloved Cluedo board... I'm wearing a gorgeous floral embroidered organza fit-to-flare dress with satin lining & embellished grosgrain ribbon belt from Anthea Crawford; a pair of sky-high shiny black patent high heels from retro-inspired label Kitten d'Amour; a black satin pouch bag with drawstring closure & 3D black & silver flowers gifted by a dear friend & embellished with a plethora of vintage mixed metal & gemstone butterfly & insect brooches from a variety of sources & finally, an armful of sparkly beaded bangles that another friend thoughtfully brought back from a trip to India.
