If you've been reading my previous posts, you'll know that we did things a little differently this 2020 festive season (owing to the need for social distancing) & spread out celebrations out over three BIG days in order to spend quality time with our beloved extended family. For the penultimate event, Christmas Day, we had our time-honoured presents-under-the-tree & traditional "nibblies" made to the family recipes followed by a delicious turkey dinner with all the trimmings including Bonbons & gameplay or relaxation in front of a classic Christmas movie (I believe that Will Ferrell's hilarious feature "Elf" was this year's unanimous choice) for six people. 

Every year, I wear a new dress for the occasion & this year was no exception; I donned an absolutely divine floral jacquard dress with paneled waistline & flared skirt from Aussie designer Anthea Crawford (pretty much my go-to for all special occasions, to be honest), a pair of beige leather lace-up sandals from Jo Mercer to elongate my legs while still being comfortable owing to the chunky heels, a stack of handmade rainbow faceted bead bracelets from Jeweled Bazaar to add a bit of daytime sparkle & finally, a darling oversized red felt bow headpiece from Boutique by Brenda Lee that I found at her beautiful Etsy store last year & foresee wearing years into the future, such is its quality craftsmanship & timeless nature.

 Despite the difficulties of 2020, I still wanted to commemorate the happy occasions in life with a series of beautiful pictures as memories to look back on in future years when the world is (hopefully) a Covid 19 free place, so keep scrolling to take a peek at the way it all unfolded...

Christmas Eve afternoon spent with family & I'm wearing a bright & happy acid rainbow checked seersucker reversible tie-front dress (phew, try saying that five times fast!) with a pair of mauve/purple vegan leather slingback heels from Aussie label Gorman & a cutesy "Not a Creature was Stirring" resin mouse & cheese brooch from Erstwilder for a funky take on festive dressing.

The three main days of Christmastide - Christmas Eve, Christmas Day & Boxing Day - are always a crazy whirlwind of organization, preparation & let's face it, procrastination because as soon as it's here, it's over for another twelve months but this year, I've tried to savour every single moment of this quieter, socially-distanced season. For a Christmas Eve morning spent "playing postman" with festive treats & thoughtful gifts (if I do say so myself...) I donned a gorgeous, vintage-inspired white cotton shift dress with "angel sleeves" from Aussie designer label Maiocchi that I styled up with a pair of lipstick red vegan leather heels from Kitten D'Amour & a chunky, red resin heart brooch that a dear friend made for me a few years ago. The whole look is very olde worlde, which is (as you may already know) one of my biggest sartorial inspirations or, as a friend of mine said when she say the pictures on Instagram, "you look like you're about to be sent to the guillotine in Marie-Antoinette-era France, which is that aesthetic that you love..." She wasn't wrong.
