It's the most wonderful time of the year
With the kids jingle-belling
And everyone telling you "Be of good cheer!"
It's the most wonderful time of the year.
It's the hap-happiest season of all
With those holiday greetings & gay-happy meetings
When friends come to call
It's the hap-happiest season of all.

Avid readers of this blog will know that Christmas is, by far, my favourite time of the year - despite the sticky & stifling Queensland Summer temperatures - & that my festive preparations begin long before December...
Our family Christmas Tree is always up & decorated before the first of the month & the front room turned into what has been dubbed our "Christmas Grotto," with years worth of decorations, wreaths, statues, singing plush animals & even a tiny snowy village complete with snowy gingerbread cabins, church with leadlight windows, carolers & children enjoying outdoors pursuits such as sledding & ice-skating.
The religious significance of the holiday is of utmost importance & in addition to the angel sitting atop the tree, we have a gorgeous wood & resin nativity scene that has been part of our celebrations since I was a baby.
