All dressed up for Melbourne Cup Day - otherwise known as "The Race That Stops A Nation" - in this stunning ensemble, developed around this utterly divine navy, blue, white & blush pink embroidered mesh fit-to-flare midi dress from celebrated Australian designer Anthea Crawford that truly fitted the fun & flirty filly theme of the day. Rather than my usual chunky heels, I donned a pair of navy, grey & blush pink ombre leather pointy-toe court shoes with stiletto heels from Carvela by Kurt Geiger (discovered in my local David Jones store & previously worn to my brother's wedding dinner) for a retro vibe & then added a boxy blush pink vinyl handbag from Olga Berg to carry all the essentials. When it came to accessories, I chose some of my all-time most beloved jewellery pieces - a handmade in Paris pewter cuff dotted with beads, semi-precious stones & Swarovski crystals from Gian Paolo Maria via Lannah Dunn with a matching silver & crystal ring from Swarovski, both of which were given to me by family for my 30th birthday - & to finish the look, added the all-important headpiece, this time a blush satin ruched headband from Forever New to pick up on the subtle pink tones in the dress, shoes & bag.
