Clad in festive red once again for a hot & sunny Christmas Eve morning spent with dear friends at the local splash park followed by a delicious, leisurely lunch at Hogs' Breath Cafe to cool off in the air conditioning. For the occasion, I donned this amazing red cotton vest & bermuda shorts combo from Lily Loves at Target, styled up with a pair of tan vegan leather gladiator-style sandals from Blowfish Malibu that I picked up Williams Shoes this time last year, a woven paper crossbody bag with vinyl strap & shell detailing from Sussan to carry all the essentials while keeping my hands free & finally, in a nod to the season, a funky ceramic gingerbread man brooch from Paper Boat Press that I found at the Queensland Art Gallery Gift Shop a few years ago & just absolutely adore!

Scroll down for a peek at how it all unfolded...

A change of pace for Christmas Eve under the fairy lights in this utterly divine floral twill strapless fit-to-flare midi dress in shades of black, blue & grey from City Chic, styled up with a pair of silver leather & suede deco-inspired kitten heels from Ziera for that touch of metallic shine & a vintage silver plated jewellery set (necklace & bracelet) from the late 1950s/early 1960s (engraved with my initial by the talented Duncan Vickers Engraver in the historic Brisbane Arcade) that some dear friends gave me a birthday present earlier in the year to complete the look.
