Finally sharing all the beautiful outfit pictures of the AMAZING tinsel-inspired striped mini dress with gold back zipper from funky hipster label Elliatt that I was gifted by friends as an early Christmas present & that really made a statement at a Christmas party in my beloved River City. This little number is the ultimate party dress & would suit a variety of occasions including birthdays, engagements & anniversaries... or any time you just want to feel pretty darn festive! It gets noticed, let me tell you - I was stopped by multiple people in the street, in stores & at the party & complimented, which is always really lovely. Luckily for me, despite how crazy the dress may look & how scratchy the material may appear, it's actually a heavier type of woven fabric that is comfortable to wear & hugs you in all the right places.

For the occasion, I styled it up with a pair of black matte leather heeled ankle boots from Wittner for a modicum of height & a chunky base to anchor the look, carried a black leather shoulder bag from Pigeonhole to dress the entire look "down" & make it a bit more daytime appropriate & donned some of my favourite jewellery pieces - a black resin hinged bangle with gold & onyx emblem & matching gold & onyx teardrop ring from Samantha Wills - both of which I've had for many years & love & wear regularly.

While it's true that this summer has been incredibly rainy & a bit cooler than many Queenslanders are used to, it's safe to say that, as always, it's been ridiculously humid. That's where beautiful, natural, light fabrics such as cotton, voile, linen & rayon come in... like in this sweet little white & brown spotted cotton number with elasticated bodice, tie straps & midi length hemline from Faithfull the Brand! The dress was worn initially to run some pre-Christmas errands (hence the beautifully decorated tree in the foreground & the escalator shot from a local shopping centre above) with a pair of tan leather sandals with ankle straps from Wittner, a vintage natural woven reed crossbody bag from New Farm Antique Centre to carry all the essentials & a vintage silver bangle stack & tiny elephant pinky ring, both gifted by some dear friends before undergoing a quick change-up of accessories at home to be suitable for an afternoon spent catching up with friends. I swapped the tan sandals for a pair of silver, gold & rose gold metallic vegan leather strappy flat sandals from Blowfish Malibu via Williams the Shoemen & the vintage reed bag for a funky blush vinyl crossbody from Pixie Mood (also a thoughtful gift from dear friends) while keeping the jewellery the same.

Another day, another happy, festive post depicting life before the flood of Covid cases from "down south" keeps us trapped inside again, protecting the more vulnerable. This particular morning was a special pre-Christmas catch up with a very dear old friend who has always been part of my life & it was wonderful spending time just chatting & sharing a leisurely meal together.

To that end, I donned a beautiful baby pink cotton ruffled mini dress with voluminous puff sleeves & braiding detail from Aussie designer Aje (my most recent sartorial obsession), styled up with a pair of silver lather slingback sandals with oversized gold buckles & wooden stacked heels from Florsheim, a vintage natural woven reed handbag from New Farm Antique Centre & an utterly divine vintage gold lampwork beaded necklace & matching bracelet from Beautiful Pangea (gifted by dear friends) to complete the look. In all honesty, as the morning wore on & the weather heated up, I swapped the heeled sandals for a pair of comfortable yet stylish purple & gold print leather Birkenstocks - found at the gold mine that is Footgear at Indooroopilly - called the "Miramar Big Buckle" & it is my favourite pair of Birks ever!
