Drop Waisted

*

Dress: Caroline Morgan via Whyte Oak polyblend
Sandals: Eos via Obsession Shoes leather
Bag: Cotton On woven paper
Bag Charms: Disney plush
Bangle Stack: Gift, vintage Mexican silver
Bangle: Gift, 20th Century Antiques & Collectibles vintage silver
Cuff: Wallace Bishop brushed silver

*

Thinking back to days much, much warmer & this absolutely stunning drop-waisted polyblend dress with gorgeous psychedelic-inspired pastel print from Caroline Morgan via the Whyte Oak boutique at DFO Jindalee (self-tie belt fashioned into a neck tie for a little extra pizzazz), a pair of chunky chartreuse leather sandals from a label called Eos that I discovered at the divine Obsession Shoes & a natural woven paper slouch bag from Cotton On to carry all the essentials... with a pair of funky Monsters Inc bag charms from Disney (Sully & Mike Wazowski to be exact) attached because... well, fashion's supposed to be fun! When it came to jewellery, I chose some gorgeous silver favourites - a stack of vintage Mexican silver bangles that some dear friends brought back from overseas, a single heavy vintage silver bangle from 20th Century Antiques & Collectibles - formerly Coolangatta, now Tweed Heads - & a brushed silver cuff from Wallace Bishop to complete the touch of daytime shine.

Tale As Old As Time

*

Dress: Aje organza, lace
Heels: Ziera leather, suede
Bag: Oh Jo Jo Boutique woven straw, diamantes
Bangles: Gift, sparkles, gold, silver

Finally sharing all the pictures of the utterly divine pale yellow organza tiered maxi dress with elasticated under arm panels & delicate lace trim (added by me) from Australian designer label Aje, worn to a performance of the "Beauty & the Beast" musical (which was absolutely STUNNING by the way) in my beloved River City. For those familiar with the Disney film, I've dressed as an homage to heroine Belle, whose stunning yellow ballgown in the dancing scene was really a standout feature of the films I saw throughout my childhood & remains a real fashion inspiration to this very day. For the occasion, I styled it up with a pair of silver leather & suede art deco inspired kitten heels from Ziera for a modicum of height while keeping the "sweetness" of the look, carried a natural woven straw bucket bag with diamante detailing from the delightful Oh Jo Jo Boutique at the "top of town" in Ipswich & piled on a selection of sparkly gold & silver Indian bangles that a dear friend brought back from a trip to India a few years ago.

Scroll down to see the look from the back & take a peek at a few cheeky selfies while out & about...

Lately

Trying out all the crazy (but brilliant) outfit combinations in front of my trusty full-length mirror in the garage! This time, it's a stunning floral brocade princess line midi dress from Review with a sparkly lurex number from Dangerfield over the top, a pair of black leather lace-up heels from Jo Mercer for a modicum of height & a funky, bohemian patchwork cotton crossbody bag from the EcoCentric Sisters boutique at Ripley to complete the look & pick up on the blues & purples inherent within the dress print...

Trying out this sweet little silk mushroom hat from Sarah's Silks via Oskar's Wooden Ark online emporium & absolutely loving the cottagecore vibes...

Relishing the last of the warm, late Autumn days with a gorgeous floral neoprene midi dress with racer-back & faux wrap detailing from Portmans (more than 5 years old & still a fave), styled up with a pair of navy leather lace-up heels from Midas, a natural woven straw bucket bag with diamantes from the delightful Oh Jo Jo Boutique at the "top of town" in Ipswich, a trio of sparkly gold & silver Indian bangles & a silver hinged bangle with oversized gold scarab beetle clasp that a dear friend purchased at MOMA in the 1990s & passed on to me...

I love it when a plan comes together...

Mirror selfies a-plenty in this stunning outfit - green textured viscose midi smock dress from Asos Edition with sparkly silver lurex number from Dangerfield over the top for added texture & interest, a pair of black leather lace-up heels from Jo Mercer (yes, I wear these beautiful babies A LOT) & a large silver & resin frog brooch that once belonged to the mother of some dear family friends who collected anything & everything to do with frogs... wearing this & thinking of you, Heather...

Animal print is a neutral... or so they say! Donning this amazing leopard print cotton shirred maxi dress with crazy oversized collar detailing from Kachel & rocking it with a pair of white leather sneakers with black patent stripes (the original & the best) from Adidas & a funky Erstwilder metal "Catman Miranda" brooch from the GOMA Gift Shop...

Treated myself to the original burger (minus the cheese) & some fries at Betty's Burgers & REGRET NOTHING!

Heart print sweetness from Sister Jane via Hummingbird the Shop, styled up with a pair of black leather heeled booties from Wittner, a black nylon 90s style shoulder bag from Sussan & eclectic, colourful thread bangles from my local Tree of Life store that I've probably had for at least 10 years now & never fail to add that splash of colour to any outfit...

Legitimately a sucker for those caramelised, crumbly biscuits they hand out in plastic packets at conferences & lectures... I know, I just can't help it...
