Into The Woodzeez

*

Dress: Jane Lamerton @ Myer silk
Sandals: Bare Traps @ Simona Ricci leather & embellishment
Bag: Lubentan Night Markets rubber
Bangles: Gift, gold, silver, beads (from India)

*

This bright & beautiful ensemble was an ideal choice for spending a balmy afternoon with my darling Goddaughter, opening presents & celebrating all things festive. Putting together something similar yourself - for any of you still searching for that elusive perfect Christmas Day look - really could not be any simpler; merely 4 main "pieces" & you're good to go!

1. THE DRESS: A relaxed shape with tie straps made from a silk fabric printed with large-scale tropical flowers in a pleasing, vibrant colour palette. This Jane Lamerton offering from Myer makes a Summertime statement without even trying.

2. THE SHOES: Comfortable kitten heels, leather straps in a soft metallic shade for day & embellished t-bar straps for that touch of casual sparkle, these Bare Traps beauties from Simona Ricci draw the eye downwards & elongate the frame. (A total fashion WIN for me as I'm only 5 feet tall.)

3. THE BAG: Vivid in a shade taken from the pattern of the dress to create a sense of cohesion. This tiny treasure comes from one of the many Lubentan Market stalls & cost less than $10.

4. THE JEWELLERY: Stacked up for a bit of an "arm party," these Indian bangles (gifted by a friend who currently lives over there) provide daytime sparkle for an otherwise rather casual look.

Now that all the fashion is sorted, scroll down for a peek at how the afternoon unfolded:

Instantly #2

For those of you still not following me on Instagram or Facebook, here are a few more fashion moments you've missed lately...

If you want to make sure that you get your daily "frock" fix, click on the icons on the right-hand-side of the screen or, alternatively, click on the Bloglovin' picture to be directed to their website - they'll do all the hard work for you!

So, without further ado, here's what you missed:

Dress: Gabriella Fratini silk
Sandals: Bare Traps @ Simona Ricci leather & embellishment
Bag: Adorne vinyl
Hinged Bangle: Wallace Bishop silver & elastic
Ring: Sportsgirl silver

*

Heading out for the afternoon wearing a Spode-china-style print dress with cute pussy-bow neckline detail, silver embellished sandals with stacked kitten-heels & a matching silver handbag.

Keeping the silver theme going with a chunky hinged bangle & teeny tiny pineapple ring. I love the way the juxtaposition of sizing provides visual interest...

Dress: Jacqui E chiffon, satin & lace
Heels: Target patent
Bag: Target vinyl
Beaded Bracelets: Lovisa faux pearls
Cuff: Chinatown Markets silver & fabric flower
Wrist Wrap: Sea Wish, Coolangatta

*

Jewel brights meet pastels with this inspired combination: a floaty orange chiffon shift with lace neckline & straps mixed with a pair of structured, pointy-toed patent pumps & a shoulder bag in mint pastel. Clearly, opposites on the "Colour Wheel" really DO attract!

Eclectic jewellery in shades of gold, green & white - faux pearl bracelets, faux flower cuff & beaded tribal wrist wrap...

Dress: Suzanne Grae jersey & chiffon
Wedge Sandals: Betts for Her suede
Clutch: Sportsgirl vinyl & studs
Studded Bangles: Tree of Life bronze, silver
Wrap Bangle: Autograph chrome & diamante

*

Black + Chrome + Studded = Edgy

This equation proved to be true when statement accessories - lace up wedges, "heavy metal" clutch & a selection of studded & chrome bangles "edged up" this casual jersey & chiffon bubble-hem smock (an absolute bargain for $25 in the sales) to make it appropriate for dinner at a local restaurant.

...And the necessary post-haircut selfie with a darker red lip...

Dress: Jane Lamerton silk
Heels: Sandler patent
Handbag: Adorne vinyl
Bangles: Tree of Life woven thread

*

Mixing a bright, hibiscus print silk shift - featuring tie straps & sweet back-of-the-neck bow - with an equally bright handbag & armful of boho style woven thread bangles for late night shopping during a heatwave... Note the way I have worn beige/flesh tone, mid-heel platforms with the look so they blend in & lengthen my legs whilst providing me with a modicum of extra height...
