Mappins

*

Dress: Trelise Cooper flocked organza
Slip: Taking Shape elastane
Ankle Boots: Midas leather with silver buckles
Bag: Urban Originals vegan leather with silver hardware

If there's one place that I love to visit regularly, it's a nursery or garden centre as they are often called these days. Something about being surrounded by verdant greenery just seems to lift the spirits & brighten the countenance, if I do say so myself. This particular place, Mappins in West End, is a hipster's dream with its eclectic decor, myriad of hanging plants, schools of vibrant fish & other aquatic species & plethora of funky, artistic planters. For the occasion, I wore a gorgeous mauve & black spotted flocked organza midi dress with long sleeves & tiered detailing from New Zealand designer Trelise Cooper & a black elastane slip from Taking Shape underneath for modesty, a pair of chunky black leather ankle boots with laces & silver buckles from Midas & a black vegan leather crossbody bag with silver hardware from Urban Originals to complete the look.

Volare

Dress: Anthea Crawford jacquard, lace
Heels: Carvela by Kurt Geiger lurex

*

Can't wait until I can actually wear this gorgeous little heron-printed jacquard number from Aussie designer Anthea Crawford out to a special occasion again but for now, I'm content with just swanning about in my back garden, swishing the lace-insert tiered skirt so I can look down at my gorgeous soft-gold lurex heels from Carvela by Kurt Geiger while I hum Dean Martin's version of "Volare" & think about the freedom that birds must feel when they fly...
