Lately

All dressed up & taking a few little snapshots in the dressing room (while killing some time, as you do) wearing a gorgeous navy, black & blush large-scale floral jacquard fit-to-flare midi dress from City Chic, black jersey cardigan/jacket with chiffon ruffled hem from Metalicus that I picked up at the Vinnies in Rosewood for under $5, a pair of black leather pointy-toed booties from Wittner for a modicum of height & a blush nylon shoulder bag from Nine West to carry all the essentials. Jewellery from a variety of sources - a silver necklace from Prouds with silver & amber pendant from Trottie Becke, matching silver & amber cocktail ring from the delightful ladies at Precious Stones Jewellers & silver hinged bangle from Oxfam for some daytime shine.

Another day, another mirror selfie - this time in my natural habitat, a boutique - wearing a cute little floral jacquard mini shift dress with matching purple vegan leather slingback heels from Gorman.

Feeling festive for an event in the River City wearing this stunning red & gold floral jacquard puff sleeve mini dress with tie neckline from Dream Sister Jane, black patent leather pointy-toed booties from Wittner, black tights from Razzamatazz (tip for Queensland gals: buy the XL/tall even if you're not if you want the darkest shade of black at only 40 denier for our bizarre not-really-cold-but-cold weather) & a vintage 1960s/1970s beaded handbag that I picked up from Collectorville a couple of years ago from an absolutely darling seller & added a silk black ribbon.

Mourning the loss of our Chinese Elm Tree (I know, I know, it's a pest & it was diseased) with my little Lorax friend...

Wrap dresses will forever have a place in my heart, particularly those from Brisbane designer Sacha Drake! I've styled this monochrome silk beauty with a vintage 1980s black linen blazer from Anthea Crawford that I picked up from Vinnies at Rosewood for under $5, a pair of black matte & patent leather loafers with tassels from Obsession Shoes, a vintage 1970s tooled leather bag covered with funky Western pictures (all the way from the US of A from Shop 76 at the Ipswich Antique Centre to carry the essentials, a silver bangle from 20th Century Antiques & Collectibles & suede & wood watch from Montville Woodworks.

That new sock feeling!

Polka dot obsessed in this red & white silk shirt dress from Brave + True, styled up for this cold weather we've been experiencing with the addition of a black leather Victorian-style jacket from Just Jeans (nearly 20 years old & still going strong), a pair of black matte & patent leather loafers with tassels from Obsession Shoes at the "top of town" in Ipswich & a vintage leather camera-case-turned-handbag from Ipswich Antique Centre to lug around all my essentials.

Sometimes a burger just hits the spot! Thanks, Betty's Burgers...

Starry, Starry Night!
All dressed up in this utterly amazing navy & gold zodiac embroidered mesh midi dress from Dangerfield that I've styled up with a gold lurex cardigan from Perri Cutten (purchased secondhand from The Vintage Advantage a few years go), a black Victorian-style leather jacket from Just Jeans to ward off the chill in the air, a pair of black leather pointy-toed booties from Wittner for height, black 40 denier tights from Razzamatazz & a vintage leather camera-bag-turned-handbag from Shop 76 at Ipswich Antique Centre to carry all my goodies.

A little something old mixed with a little something new: gorgeous paisley print chiffon shirred midi dress from Witchery that I've had for at least five years now styled up with a pair of black matte & patent leather loafers with tassels from Obsession Shoes & my brand new black & cream striped handbag with wooden clasp from Embers & Twine at the "top of town" in Ipswich!

A sunny Sunday morning at Collectorville (this time at the Rocklea Showgrounds) wearing a funky cotton prairie dress from Gorman, secondhand grey & floral coated cotton anorak from Vinnies at Rosewood, black matte & patent leather booties with buttons from Wittner, black tights from Razzamatazz & a black nylon crossbody bag from Nautica to keep my hands free for rummaging!

Hours of rearranging...

Warm winter feelings in this gorgeous boho luxe ensemble - a dainty blue & white floral cotton voile prairie dress (bought secondhand) from slow-fashion label Ankoa, styled up with an embroidered suede vest with faux sheepskin lining from Tree of Life, tan suede pointy-toed mules from Wittner for a modicum of height & a blue suede slouch bag from Cotton On to carry all the essentials... including this second-hand RL Stine book that I just can't seem to put down!

Weekend shenanigans with my main men: JC & Kermit the Frog... wearing a funky blanket square vest from The Vintage Advantage, might I add!

*

Mixing eras (as usual) in a beautiful navy & white polka dot chiffon tiered mini dress from Review, funky 1970s knitted cardigan in shades of white, tan, brown & navy from Shop 76 at Ipswich Antique Centre to keep me feeling all toasty & warm, tan suede pointy-toed mules from Wittner & boho luxe chocolate brown, navy & cream woven straw crossbody bag with tan leather strap from a little nameless boutique that used to be next door to my hairdresser.

Finally sharing all the joyful pictures from a mother/daughter shopping morning at Indooroopilly Shopping Centre, followed by a leisurely brunch at one of our favourite places, The Pig & Whistle Pub. For the occasion, I wore a gorgeous white & blue floral jacquard mini dress with sweet little puff sleeves & tie neckline from British label Sister Jane's premium diffusion line, Dream Sister Jane, styled up for the in-between/early winter weather with a pair of blue leather bow sandals by a label called Isabella that I picked up at a boutique called Tides in Burleigh Heads (I can't recommend as the bottoms pretty much fell off as soon as I wore them but the delightful & talented cobblers at Hallelujah Shoe Works completely saved the day & now they're perfection) & a boho luxe natural woven paper crossbody bag with fringing from Obsession Shoes at the "top of town" in Ipswich to carry all the essentials while keeping my hands free for shopping. When it came to jewellery, I chose some beloved pieces - a stack of vintage Mexican silver bangles that some dear friends brought back from a trip overseas years ago now, a single vintage silver bangle that my younger brother bought for me from 20th Century Antiques & Collectibles & finally, a brushed silver cuff from Wallace Bishop to complete the look & add that touch of daytime shine.

Fairytale dressing seems to be the name of the game for me lately, particularly when it comes to British label Sister Jane's premium diffusion line, Dream Sister Jane which practically specialises in dreamy, cottage-core, fairytale, whimsical creations like this stunning blush lace tiered midi dress with shirred bodice, satin lining & black satin ribbon detailing that I've styled up for a special event in my beloved River City. In an ode to the cooler temperatures, I've picked up on the darker, edgier side of this look - the black ribbon - by adding a pair of black vegan leather strappy heels with buttons from girly Australian label Kitten D'Amour, a black leather shoulder bag from funky boutique Pigeonhole to carry all the essentials & a some all-time favourite jewellery pieces - a chunky resin & paper bangle depicting one of Modigliani's famed "nude woman" paintings from the late 1800s that I picked up from the gift shop of the Musee de l'Orangerie in Paris while on a trip years ago, a silver & neoprene Swatch watch depicting another masterpiece from the same arist that some dear friends gave me as a Christmas gift a few years ago & finally, a heavy vintage silver bangle that my brother gifted me from 20th Century Antiques & Collectibles to complete the look while adding a touch of daytime shine.
