Another day, another batch of glorious pictures from Indooroopilly Shoppingtown's "Big Bauble" this festive season! This time, my mother & I headed off to the shops for a trip to Starbucks, a browse around the boutiques & department stores & finally, a leisurely lunch in the very British surrounds of the Pig & Whistle for some traditional pub fare! For the occasion, I wore a beautiful red & green floral cotton/ramie mini dress with collar, elasticated neckline & tiered hem from Portmans styled up with a pair of tan leather sandals with ankle straps from Rilassare via Obsession Shoes at the "top of town" in Ipswich, a woven straw circular crossbody bag with tan leather strap from a now defunct little boutique called Bohemian Soul to carry all the essentials, a dainty gold bangle from Lovisa that a dear family friend gave me for my birthday earlier in the year & matching chunky green resin bangle & cocktail ring from celebrated duo Dinosaur Designs to complete the look & add some Christmas vibes.

Indooroopilly Mornings

Finally sharing all the pictures from a morning spent at an event in Indooroopilly, followed by a delicious & leisurely lunch at the amazing Pig & Whistle for a fill of British pub-style fare... & maybe even a cheeky Starbucks frappe for dessert! For the occasion, I wore this gorgeous "The Comet" pink, blue, green & gold starburst print on a black jacquard background bias-cut midi dress with puff sleeves from funky cult label Gorman's recent collaboration with artist Audrey Helen Weber with matching crossbody bag to carry all the essentials & a sweet bumble-bee shaped handmade & embellished bag charm from Kindred Boutique for a touch of whimsy, a pair of black matte leather pointy-toed booties with a heel from Wittner for a modicum of height & a stack of multi-coloured, faceted beaded bracelets from a store called Jeweled Bazaar that I found on Etsy a few years ago to complete the look.

Finally sharing all the joyful pictures from a mother/daughter shopping morning at Indooroopilly Shopping Centre, followed by a leisurely brunch at one of our favourite places, The Pig & Whistle Pub. For the occasion, I wore a gorgeous white & blue floral jacquard mini dress with sweet little puff sleeves & tie neckline from British label Sister Jane's premium diffusion line, Dream Sister Jane, styled up for the in-between/early winter weather with a pair of blue leather bow sandals by a label called Isabella that I picked up at a boutique called Tides in Burleigh Heads (I can't recommend as the bottoms pretty much fell off as soon as I wore them but the delightful & talented cobblers at Hallelujah Shoe Works completely saved the day & now they're perfection) & a boho luxe natural woven paper crossbody bag with fringing from Obsession Shoes at the "top of town" in Ipswich to carry all the essentials while keeping my hands free for shopping. When it came to jewellery, I chose some beloved pieces - a stack of vintage Mexican silver bangles that some dear friends brought back from a trip overseas years ago now, a single vintage silver bangle that my younger brother bought for me from 20th Century Antiques & Collectibles & finally, a brushed silver cuff from Wallace Bishop to complete the look & add that touch of daytime shine.

I'm so delighted to share all the pictures from a mother/daughter morning of shopping at Indooroopilly Shoppingtown followed by a leisurely bistro lunch at the Pig & Whistle where we enjoyed some traditional British pub fare. For the occasion, I wore a gorgeous carnation print silk crepe fit-to-flare midi dress from Anthea Crawford, styled up with a pair of red vegan leather dual strap heels from Kitten D'Amour for a modicum of height & a recycled quilted polyester crossbody bag in a matching vivid shade of red from Cotton On to carry all the essentials while keeping my hands free. When it came to jewellery, I chose some beloved silver pieces - a stack of vintage Mexican bangles that some dear friends brought back from a trip overseas, a chunky Victorian bracelet with oversized filigree heart locket & teeny tiny key from Kellie's Antiques & a single thicker bangle from 20th Century Antiques & Collectibles that my younger brother gave me as a birthday gift a few years ago.

Brunching

It seems like I have been doing an awful lot of brunching lately (well, before this terrible virus thing that has been plaguing me for almost a week now, which is... unpleasant to say the least) particularly at the newly refurbished Indooroopilly Shoppingtown. Those who know me would already be aware that I'm not particularly fond of the changes made to the centre (I liked the old configuration of stores much, much better as I felt there was substantially more variety in price & offering) or the fact that shoppers have essentially had to "pay for" the cost of the renovations through paid parking but I must admit that there are some wonderful places to dine out with friends & family. Below are three of my favourite brunch looks in recent times...

Posing up a storm in my younger brother's front garden wearing a gorgeous blue-tone, floral printed twill dress with bateau neckline & princess seams from Anthea Crawford, comfortable white leather mules with chunky silver heels from Wittner, navy & white striped vinyl handbag from Forever New for a bit of pattern-mixing (it helps to add interest to any look) & two jewellery pieces I love - a chunky silver hinged bangle from Wallace Bishop & a blue & white "Girl" cameo on a thick silver bracelet from Karen Walker, gifted to me by a dear friend who is no longer with us. Nothing better than mixing style & serenity for a brunch with family at the Panorama Cafe, where I was more than happy to dig into this delicious avocado on toast with mushrooms & hash browns on the side!

Photographed by my dear friend Jenny just as I'm about to start eating this absolutely delicious tuna, cheese & mayonnaise baguette with side salad (washed down with an old-fashioned raspberry soda) from high-tea-hotspot Passion Tree Velvet. I'm wearing this tapestry-printed, heavy satin fit-to-flare dress with portrait neckline from Anthea Crawford, flesh-tone heels from Wittner with matching bag from Forever New (not pictured) & a trio of funky silver agate jewellery pieces from Witchery to make a real statement.

Scroll down for a few cute pictures of our littlest brunching companion... & a peek at the decadent lemon meringue dessert I managed to find some room for...

Shades of black, white & grey for a mother/daughter brunch at the Pig & Whistle. It's no secret that I'm a huge anglophile, so it's always a treat to eat something quintessentially "English Pub Meal," especially in such wonderful company. Here I am perched on a stool wearing a gorgeous black jersey & oversized floral twill dress with mullet hemline from City Chic, white leather "mesh cage" heels from Wittner (height plus comfort is always a winner!), grey vinyl shoulder bag with white floral strap from Catherine Malandrino (all the way from America) & silver jewellery accents in the form of a brushed cuff from Wallace Bishop & cicada bangle from Adorne.
