Back in Black

*

A change of pace with a darker-hued ensemble, worn on my last trip into the River City a few weeks ago for a meeting about potential collaboration opportunities. For the ever-so-slightly cooler Autumn weather, I styled up this gorgeous black crepe cold-shoulder dress from Aussie designer label Anthea Crawford, cinched in with a chunky black patent belt from HellBunny via That Shop, a pair retro-inspired, black vegan leather heels with buttons & bows from Kitten D'Amour, a black vinyl cylindrical handbag with chrome hardware from French Connection to carry all the essentials & a pair of funky, oversized red & black diamante ladybug brooches from Taking Shape, gifted to me by some thoughtful family & friends for Christmas last year.

Shades of Grey

Bag: Vera May via Simona Ricci patent with gold hardware

Finally sharing some of the pictures of the outfit that I "styled up" the last time I attended a fashion event in the River City, before coronavirus social distancing/quarantine/lockdown came into effect. I'm wearing a gorgeous printed jacquard dress in shades of gold, silver, grey & pewter from Anthea Crawford, a pair of lurex heels from Carvela by Kurt Geiger to add height seeing that the dress has a below-the-knee hemline & a retro-inspired grey patent handbag with gold hardware from Vera May that I purchased from Simona Ricci Shoes at Mt Ommaney a few years ago. When it came to jewellery, I wore some of my favourite pieces - a trio of sparkly mixed metal bangles that a dear friend brought back from a trip to India & a handmade, beaded & faux pearl bracelet from a little boutique in Pitlochry that I fell in love with during our trip through Europe in 2012.

Happy Birthday Rayne

*

Dress: Collectif Clothing via Love Daphne Retro cotton
Mules: Country Road leather, wood
Bag: Sportsgirl woven straw

*

Finally sharing all of the photographs from my father Rayne's low-key birthday celebration a few weeks ago, just as this whole coronavirus thing really got started here in the land of Oz. Rather than dinner at one of our favourite restaurants, we opted for a lamb roast & vegetables at home followed by a marble cake for dessert made by my mother. Despite being stuck indoors & without my brother & sister-in-law, we made the best of it & I dressed up accordingly in a happy little vintage-inspired blue & white checked/daisy printed cotton fit-to-flare dress from Collectif Clothing via the darling Love Daphne Retro, a pair of white leather pointy-toed mules with wood heels from Country Road & a woven straw bucket bag from Sportsgirl to complete the look.

Fresh Chop

Dress: Anthea Crawford neoprene
Cardigan: Review knit
Ankle Boots: Pertini via TK Maxx leather, studs, buckles
Cardigan Clips: Gift, Colette by Colette Hayman gold & glitter

There's nothing better than the feeling of good haircut, am I right?! Here are some pictures of my new bob that, in all honesty, I had actually forgotten about for a few months but thought I'd share with you all because as far as I'm concerned, the outfit is pretty darn awesome, not least thanks to the amazing silver studded black leather biker boots with multiple buckles from Pertini that I picked up from local TK Maxx store. I'm wearing the boots with a gorgeous "seaflower" printed neoprene midi dress from Anthea Crawford (the ideal weight for the cooler months in Queensland), cropped black knitted cardigan from "girly" Aussie label Review & some funky glittered hairclips that I requisitioned as retro-style cardigan brooches from Colette by Colette Hayman, gifted to me by my aunt for my birthday.

And from the back...
