A few quick snaps of the outfit I wore today to style a client for a big event. The smock & bolero combo is from Maiocchi, an amazing label manufactured right here in Brisbane, designed by the talented Deanne Mayocchi. You can visit the website by clicking here or experience the collection in person by dropping by the three boutiques in either Paddington, Brisbane Arcade or Fortitude Valley. What I love most about Maiocchi designs is their timelessness. I have had this particular outfit for at least five years & it has never gone out of style & always looks fresh, modern & just that little bit avante garde with the folded smock style & the inclusion of the floral kimono print at the neckline. Then there's the fact that it has been washed & ironed plenty of times yet still looks as vibrant as the day it was bought... that's a big fashion win in my book.

Not much was needed to enhance this symphony of red silk as the ensemble makes a statement all on its own. Regardless, I have added a sweet pair of black patent Mary Jane heels to further enhance the sheen of the silk, a silver & coloured stone stretch bangle to pick up on the contrasting hues in the aforementioned neckline print & a silver art nouveau dragonfly cuff to pick up on the botanical nature of the kimono fabric.

Fashion designer Bill Blass once said, "When in doubt, wear red" & that is utterly true in my opinion as this outfit served to make an otherwise ordinary Tuesday into something just that little bit special...
