Finally sharing all the gorgeous pictures from a mother/daughter day together at Southbank, taking in the "Discovering Ancient Egypt" exhibit at the Queensland Museum before a quick coffee by the Brisbane River, peek at what's new in the Queensland Art Gallery & a leisurely lunch at one of our all-time favourites, Ahmet's Turkish Restaurant followed by gelato for dessert & a walk through the rainforest area to finish... Phew! It certainly was a great day out with so much to see & do in both the cultural precinct & the parklands! For the occasion, I'm wearing a gorgeous large-scale floral jacquard bias-cut midi dress with cap sleeves & ruffle detailing with matching jacquard crossbody bag (you know, to carry all the essentials) from cult label Gorman, styled up with a funky denim cocoon-shaped jacket from Aussie designer Bianca Spender to ward off the chilll in the air, a pair of black patent & matte leather loafers with tassels from an Italian brand called Pitillos that I discovered at the always amazing Obsession Shoes at the "top of town" in Ipswich for a modicum of height while staying comfortable & light on my feet & finally, a chunky circular gold cocktail ring from Lovisa to pick up on the gold inherent in the dress & bag print & provide that touch of daytime shine.

Enjoying the atmospheric, entertaining & empathetic exhibition...
The "Whale Mall" has always been my favourite little tradition when visiting the museum!
I always make it a point to stand underneath & enjoy the whale song for a few moments before leaving & can remember doing that even when I was a little kid - it's just so mesmerising!
Watching the meandering river in the sunshine while sipping on a piping hot chai latte with one of my favourite people in the world... absolute heaven!
A few little art gallery moments...
Can't resist interactive public artworks...
Immersing myself in the French Festival set-up...
Another amazing meal at Ahmets Turkish Restaurant... even if the menu had slightly changed for the winter season & my go-to item (the eggplant casserole) wasn't available. As usual sublime ambiance & wonderful service.
Rainforest revelry & the opportunity to ditch a layer for a few moments at least before enjoying some gelato...
