Nothing like a leisurely morning browsing around the local shops before heading over to one of the cafes or restaurants (like Beach House, for example) for a spot of lunch... even better once we are free from the nightmare of Covid 19 & all the social distancing restrictions that come with it... Regardless, I'm making the most of the day in a gorgeous pale blue & pink floral cotton sateen paneled fit-to-flare midi dress from Aussie designer Anthea Crawford, a cropped blue knitted cardigan with tie neckline & three-quarter-sleeves (perfect for the Queensland winter) & a pair of Barbie pink vegan leather deco heels from Kitten D'Amour, a natural woven straw shoulder bag from my local H&M store & finally, a chunky silver hinged bangle from Wallace Bishop for that touch of daytime shine.

Sharing all of the pictures of a recent trip to the shops with my cousin & her two rambunctious munchkins to pick up supplies for the new school year... & check out the toy aisles for any post-Christmas sales, of course! For the occasion, I'm keeping it cool & casual in a gorgeous 1960s inspired floral linen/cotton shift dress with cutesy Peter Pan collar from Dangerfield, a pair of chunky white leather wedges from Stegmann via Styletread, a circular white woven shoulder bag from my local H&M store & a funky little gold & enamel pin featuring Ariel from Disney's The Little Mermaid from Zing (given to me by my younger brother) on the collar.

Finally sharing all of the gorgeous pictures of a reunion two years in the making, when one of my dearest friends & her family came home to Queensland for a Christmas visit! We spent the day pretty much like old times (albeit with a new little member of the group joining us) chatting & browsing around a local shopping centre, Orion Springfield Central, before heading to Hogs Breath Cafe for lunch. 

For the occasion (a hot & humid day in the Sunshine State, of course) I wore the bright & breezy pink and orange Saffron Skies linen midi dress from Aussie label Gorman that I styled up with a pair of black leather lace-up heeled sandals from Jo Mercer, a black woven straw shoulder bag from H&M to carry all the essentials including my usual hand sanitizer, rubber gloves & face mask thanks to Covid 19, a silver cuff from Wallace Bishop & long, vintage beaded necklace with carved wooden African animals, found at a darling online shop called Beautiful Pangea, that a dear friend gifted me during the year.

Posing near this gorgeous botanical mural at a local shopping centre - the ideal place to hang out during a heatwave due to the air-conditioning - in an ensemble that truly helped me to "beat the heat" as they say: a light, brightly-printed cotton fit-to-flare dress with cotton lining (!) from Sunny Girl (purchased from a little boutique called Sweet & Vicious at Mooloolaba...truly a treasure trove), flat tan leather sandals with embellished front straps from Corelli at Williams the Shoemen, straw shoulder bag from a little market stall The Strand in Coolangatta & finally, a chunky, thrice-looped wooden beaded necklace from Eb & Ive to add a little extra "oomph" to the already summery vibes.

Nothing like an all-day breakfast! This yummy plate was from Beach House Bar & Grill - Smashed Avocado on Sour Dough with Lettuce, Onion, Poached Eggs, Sauteed Mushrooms & a Hash Brown on the side.

Playing in the backyard with these three little mischief-makers as the breeze started to ramp up & the temperature began to cool down...

I'm wearing a rather dainty blush pink stretch lace maxi dress with faux cropped bodice detailing from Aussie company Little Party Dress (the choice of many discerning Instagrammers right now - click here to see the amazing range), matching pink leather flat sandals with gold studding from Mila Paoli that really are the optimal choice for daytripping in comfort, soft gold vinyl crossbody bag with gold hardware from Sportsgirl & finally, a vintage straw cloche hat with raffia embroidered flowers from Ipswich Antique Centre to ward off the sun's harmful rays.

Loving the Art Deco vibes in this amazing pair of monochrome spotted togs with 1920s style skirt & pattern-mixed chiffon longline tie-front kaftan cover-up from Kmart. Not bad for a mere $37! Once again, I'm wearing my vintage straw cloche to keep the sun off my face & a pair of moulded rubber "starfish" thongs from Aussie Soles.
