There's A Bear In There...

Taking a trip down memory lane with a morning spent enjoying a live Playschool Concert with my cousin & her two boys. In my opinion, the television show "Playschool" is one of the best things that the Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC) has ever produced & I have fond memories of watching the show in the afternoons, cuddling up to my very own Little Ted & Big Ted, endeavouring to make all of the arts & crafts & singing along with the accompanying records. While it may be slightly different these days & the presenters are all young people that I don't really know, there was still that old Playschool magic when watching all of the happy toddlers & kindergarteners laughing & having so much fun.

A blustery, rather overcast day in Queensland meant that I was able to wear a heavy monochrome boucle mini dress from new label Chancery via The Iconic, black polyblend anorak with silver zippers from Mano, embroidered black leather biker boots from Wittner to provide visual interest, 40 denier nylon tights from Razzamatazz, a black vinyl crossbody bag with silver hardware from Urban Originals via TK Maxx & silver hinged bangle from Wallace Bishop to complete the look.

Avid readers of this blog will know that while I'm not a fan of summertime (it's far too hot & humid in Queensland), I am a fan of Christmas & all the wonderful traditions that the festive season has to offer. Recently, my cousin & I hit the shops with her two rambunctious munchkins to do some Christmas shopping (otherwise known as Santa-Wishlist-making) before enjoying a leisurely lunch of burgers & hot chips at Grill'd - some of us taking it more casually than others by donning their new swim googles - before heading home to trim the Christmas tree with our favourite festive songs blaring in the background.

To beat the heat, I donned this gorgeous & fresh-looking black & white picnic-blanket-checked cotton prairie-style midi dress with cold shoulder detailing & tiered hemline (sweet white lace added by me) from Aussie designer Sacha Drake, comfortable white leather gladiator sandals from Wittner & a white painted cane crossbody bag with leather strap that I picked up at Homestore Ashgrove to hold all the essentials while keeping my hands free for the wrangling of excitable children. When it came to jewellery, I wore a pair of beaded bracelets on each arm - on the left, black lava beaded bracelets with carved soapstone Buddha face from Gone Dotti & on the right, wooden beaded bracelets with silver charms & tassels from Emmala by Emma for that summery, bohemian touch.
