In The Navy

Taking a break from the craziness of the after-Christmas sales season by the beautiful water feature at Westfield Garden City. Honestly, it's so peaceful that you could easily forget about the bustling carpark or busy road behind. I'm wearing a gorgeous navy guipure lace midi dress with sculpted hemline & flesh tone satin underlay from Portmans, shiny metallic gold gladiator sandals from Wittner, lipstick red vinyl handbag with "Minnie Mouse" ears from my local Typo store (celebrating 90 years of Mickey Mouse & the creation of the Disney legacy) & a trio of sparkly mixed metal bangles that were gifted to me by a dear friend.

It's no secret that I loved to hit the shops anytime, anywhere - in fact, once I found oodles to purchase from literally THE ONLY store (a chemist) that was open in Ipswich City Square after 5 o'clock - but the festive season is by far my favourite time to browse due to all the beautiful Christmas decor that really brightens the spirits & makes your heart sing. The fact that almost every store has sales, sales, sales also helps, of course!

On this particular occasion, my mother & I decided to head to the newly refurbished Garden City Shopping Centre to enjoy a morning of window shopping & yum cha... possibly ticking a few more items off the Christmas shopping list on the way... so I wore one of my favourite outfits of the year & incidentally the one I chose for my birthday celebrations in April. The amazing white crushed cotton shift with curved hemline from Saint The Label provided the ultimate backdrop for an amazing pair of dark tan leather heeled mules from Wittner & shoulder bag from Elk the Label, pearl & semi-precious stone beaded necklace & matching bracelet that some dear friends found in Israel to give me as birthday gift & finally, a chunky vintage buffalo horn cuff from Commercial Road Antiques.

Denim Days

*

Dress: Cue denim with silver zipper
Sandals: Wittner leather with silver studs
Bag: Bluebird at Strandbags vinyl with silver hardware
Bracelet: Banjara woven, beads, coins

Finally sharing pictures of a day spent shopping at Westfield Garden City with my cousin & her little munchkins. I wore denim. Yes, really! Truth be told, I was surprised that I absolutely loved this little denim number with its nipped in waist, exposed seaming & front zipper from Aussie fashion stalwart, Cue but those casual, just-threw-this-on-like-jeans vibes were strong, particularly when mixed with funky accessories like these silver studded, flesh-tone leather heeled sandals from Wittner, flesh tone vinyl handbag with front zipper (nothing like a bit of matchy-matchy) from Bluebird at Strandbags & a chunky woven bracelet with a myriad of vintage coins & beads by a company called Banjara that I picked up from the Greenway Garden Centre... nothing like adding a little bit of bohemian cool to my everyday look.

Making friends with one of the Fu Dogs outside 8th Street...

Taking a break by the... water?!? Nope, your eyes are not deceiving you.
Loving the new refurbishments & this man-made pond where the entrance to the carpark used to be...

All about those tiny trains...
