Lately

A morning in Paddington enjoying all things vintage & Woodstock-related - as well as some delicious fare from Sassafrass Cafe - wearing a gorgeous 1960s-inspired denim mini dress with brown leather tie front detailing from Birdhouse Laidley, a pair of tan leather ankle strap sandals by a label called Rilassare from Obsession Shoes & a vintage tan tooled leather handbag that some dear friends gave me years ago to carry all the essentials.

Collectorville Markets at Rocklea Showgrounds on a VERY sunny morning in South East Queensland wearing a sweet printed & embroidered linen mini shirtdress from cult label Gorman, a pair of blue leather bow sandals from Isabella that I picked up at Tides Boutique in Burleigh Heads, a vintage woven straw shoulder bag from RetroWorld Collective in Uptown that fits absolutely everything inside & a woven straw sunhat with embroidered daisies around the brim from Princess Highway to ward off the sun's rays as I browsed around & found some treasures to add to my numerous collections (some shown below) with my coffee in hand...

Denim on denim on denim in this look! Shorts from Best & Less, shell top from Target, brown leather platform sandals with denim strap from Obsession Shoes & brass bangles from The Way We Wore Vintage Fair & Tree of Life, respectively.

All dressed up & taking a cheeky selfie in one of my favourite places (a dressing room!) wearing a stunning floral organza tiered midi dress with oversized ruffled collar from Scandi label Ganni, a pair of mushroom patent leather sandals from Alfie & Evie that I picked up (you guessed it) from Obsession Shoes, a funky woven straw bucket bag with diamante detailing from Oh Jo Jo Boutique that is seriously the TARDIS of bags & a plethora of chunky bohemian/tribal bangles from a little vintage store (name sadly forgotten) in Toowoomba.

Enjoying the last vestiges of winter weather in this stunning dark floral cotton long-sleeved mini dress with wrap around front from White Closet that I picked up from Oh Jo Jo Boutique, a pair of chunky chocolate brown patent leather stompers from Alfie & Evie that I found at Obsession Shoes & a funky chocolate brown tooled leather shoulder bag from bohemian idyll Trottie Becke to carry all my gear.

Hitting the shops in West End wearing a crazy-but-amazing leopard print jacquard voluminous tiered micro-mini dress with puff sleeves from British label Sister Jane, a pair of black leather pointy-toed Mary Jane flats with silver studs from Hael & Jaxx that I picked up from (surprise, surprise!) Obsession Shoes & a slouchy black leather bag with oversized silver studs from Sheike to keep the theme going.

Another day, same dress & in my favourite place - an antique store!
Gotta love taking selfies in vintage mirrors...

All dressed up in a funky red striped cotton midi dress with bow bodice detailing from Birdhouse Laidley, a secondhand denim longline coat from a stall at Collectorville Markets to ward off the chill in the air, a pair of black matte & patent leather loafers from Pitillos, a black leather crossbody bag from cult boutique Pigeonhole to carry all the essentials & a massive silver & turquoise cocktail ring from Tree of Life for a pop of colour. The perfect finishing touch, however? The beautiful grey wool hat from Thomas Cook...

Following on from my last art-filled post, I'm sharing all of the beautiful pictures from an afternoon spent with family at Michelangelo's Sistine Chapel Exhibition, held in the revitalised Peters Ice Cream Factory in the hipster cultural enclave of Brisbane's celebrated West End. While I'll admit that I was slightly disappointed by the experience due to a distinct lack of ambience that I'll blame on the complete absence of mood lighting, music that was much too-soft & unable to be heard amongst the crowd of people (don't worry, I wore my mask when I realised how close together we would all be standing) & the fact that despite paying for the "VIP package" with what was supposed to be my choice of poster at the end, I was only able to choose from two options, neither of which appeared to be best sellers, it WAS wonderful to not only be able to see (recreated/enlarged) masterworks by a true artistic genius of the Renaissance without having to travel all the way to Italy but spend some quality time as a family, exploring the gardens, sculptures by talented Australian artist David Bromley & boutiques in West End Village before heading over to the Little Greek Taverna for a delicious family meal.

For the occasion, I wore a gorgeous, voluminous white cotton poplin midi-length smock dress with puff sleeves, asymmetrical neckline & funky braiding from Aje, a pair of lipstick red vegan leather t-bar heels sweet round toes, buttons & bows from vintage-inspired label Kitten D'Amour, a red recycled vinyl shoulder bag from Country Road to carry all the essentials including hand sanitizer & the exhibition tickets, a chunky silver wave-shaped hinged bangle with art-deco leanings from the delightful ladies at Precious Stones Jewellers, a vintage silver bangle from the sadly now-closed 20th Century Antiques & Collectibles in Coolangatta & finally, a vintage red bakelite bracelet that was gifted to me for Christmas this year & has already seen much wear throughout the festive season.
