Doing something a little different this year & paying tribute to one of my all-time favourite musicians/performers/aliens/otherwordly beings, David Bowie & his alter-ego Ziggy Stardust with this amazing - yet fashionable - costume, worn to a Halloween Hangover Party the day AFTER the spookiest night of the year. To begin, I've styled up this amazing red, white & pink star print satin ruffled midi dress with grosgrain ribbon ties (added by me) from whimsical British label Sister Jane with shiny black patent heeled ankle boots from Wittner, a funky red & black patent handbag from Sourpuss via Poison Arrow Retro (pictured below) to carry all the essentials including hand sanitizer & a mask, a chunky silver hinged bangle from Wallace Bishop for some daytime shine & finally, an out-of-this-world resin lightning bolt brooch from Arcadian Edge, a small boutique on Etsy that echoes the one painted across Bowie's face on the cover of his masterpiece "Aladdin Sane" album. As far as props went, this red & black inflatable electric guitar from online emporium Discount Party Supplies certainly took the whole concept to another dimension... & all for the princely sum of $4.99!
