Botanicals

Spent last Sunday exploring what can only be described as a little piece of paradise in the middle of the bustling cityscape - the City Botanical Gardens. After browsing at the Riverside Markets & sampling some of the delicious multicultural cuisine, my mother & I spent a few hours marveling at the wonders of nature & relaxing by the meandering Brisbane River.

Scroll down to check out how the day unfolded & find out what we both wore...

Posing in the sunshine by the Permaculture Duck Pond in a stunning large-scale floral satin dress by Anthea Crawford, comfortable-yet-stylish black leather & elastic gladiator sandals from Novo, fringed suede cross-body bag from Rockmans (bought for a grand total of $21 at their latest sale) in a funky burnt orange shade & straw cloche hat with black lace trim by Morgan Taylor at Myer.

Much like my last post, I'm wearing a simple-yet-statement-making outfit focusing heavily on red & black hues. This stunning 50s style fit-to-flare dress from City Chic is made from a combination of oversized poppy-printed silk, black thin-gauge mesh at the yoke & 3D black leaf & floral guipure lace to add modesty to the "sweetheart" neckline, added by me & purchased from my local haberdashery store. As previously mentioned, it is QUITE the style statement, meaning that all accessories & accoutrements are kept minimal & edgy - a pair of leather & elastic gladiator sandals from Novo & boxy vinyl handbag with silver hardware from Sportsgirl.

Rather than the expected "floral" jewellery pieces, these "heart" themed lovelies from Pandora were chosen - a silver hinged bangle with onyx charms & matching ring. Check them out in detail below:
