Finally posting all the pictures of the ethereal outfit I wore to attend what can only be described as a "transcendent" gospel choir performance with the mother of a dear friend who usually resides overseas. Deciding to "pull out all the stops" for the occasion, I donned a stunning floral-embroidered mesh & tulle fit-to-flare prom-style dress in a light shade of peach from celebrated British brand, Chi Chi London

Check it out in all its unencumbered glory below:

A pervading early Spring breeze meant that a jacket was required & I was delighted to finally be able to wear this gorgeous vintage opera coat (gifted by a dear friend) with a truly 1960s "cocoon" shape, Peter Pan collar & "bow" detail on the back; the vibrant peachy-orange shade really elevating the muted tones of the dress beneath.

When it came to accessories, neutral was my watchword: a pair of faux snakeskin lace-up stiletto heels from Nine West (always good to balance height with skirt circumference, particularly when you are only five foot) & a boxy beige vinyl handbag from Sportsgirl to carry all of the essentials. Jewellery followed suit: a brown-thread-over-wire cuff with shell & mother-of-pearl beads with matching ring from the Riverside Markets (now in the City Botanical Gardens) & a couple of beaded wrap bracelets with shell pieces in the place of clasps by Genison Style that I picked up at the little boutique in the Greenway Garden Centre. Scroll down to see them in detail:
