There's nothing I enjoy more than partaking in seasonal traditions & our annual mother/daughter trip to see the gorgeous Christmas lights display in the historic Brisbane Arcade (which is currently celebrating its 100 year anniversary) is definitely one that I look forward to for months in advance. For the 2024 Christmas season, Mum & I arrived early & took some pictures before the crowds then enjoyed a piping hot coffee from one of the local vendors before taking another, more leisurely look from both the ground & first floors for the optimal experience. When we were finished, we browsed around some of the shops in the arcade before heading out in the Queen Street Mall to take care of any last minute festive shopping (I may have done a little shoe shopping as well...) before heading to Longtime Yum Cha in Queens Plaza for a delicious lunch together in the relaxed and calm atmosphere.
For the occasion, I wore the funky navy & white chevron & striped cotton "Riviera" maxi dress with side cut outs from Sheike, styled up in a nautical theme with a pair of lipstick red vegan leather t-bar heels with buttons & bows from girly label Kitten D'Amour, red woven paper crossbody bag from Sussan (who are absolutely dominating with their Spring/Summer release this time around) & some of my favourite silver jewellery pieces - a stack of vintage Mexican silver bangles that dear friends brought back from overseas & a single, thicker vintage silver bangle that my younger brother gave me as a birthday gift from 20th Century Antiques & Collectibles (formerly Coolangatta, now Tweed Heads) to complete the look.
