If you're an avid reader of this blog, you'll probably already know that I absolutely adore prints (particularly large-scale florals) but sometimes, it's nice to "tone it down" so to speak & wear something in a stunning block colour with a funky textural element. Case in point: this utterly divine cobalt blue, floral-embroidered-chiffon empire-line midi dress with a comfortable jersey lining & heavily embellished tie belt from Australian designer Sacha Drake, worn to attend a recent performance of "Round the Twist: The Musical" that my child of the late 80s & 90s soul just HAD to attend (& it was amazing & nostalgic & all those good things, just as expected). I've styled it up for QPAC with a pair of black leather pointy-toed heels with laces from Wittner for a modicum of height, a cylindrical black vinyl shoulder bag from a little boutique called Beach n Beyond at The Strand in Coolangatta to carry all the essentials & some favourite silver jewellery pieces - a stack of vintage Mexican silver bangles that some dear friends gave me, a single vintage silver bangle from 20th Century Antiques & Collectibles that was a thoughtful birthday gift from my brother a few years ago & finally, a brushed silver cuff from beloved Aussie jeweller Wallace Bishop to complete the look & add some daytime shine to complement the rather outre belt option.
