Embroidered

Dress: Anthea Crawford embroidered mesh, satin
Heels: Wittner leather, elastic
Bag: Beach n Beyond vinyl
Belt: That Shop patent vinyl, elastic
Cuff & Bangle: Gift, handmade pewter

As far as I'm concerned, nothing beats an embroidered mesh dress & if you know me pretty well, you'll know that I have quite a few in my collection as they are classic, timeless & can be dressed up & down as required. This gorgeous blue & black floral midi-length number is from Australian designer Anthea Crawford & looks utterly divine for a day spent in my beloved River City when cinched in with a wide, retro-style, black patent & elastic belt from That Shop & styled up with a pair of black leather & elastic gladiator-style stiletto heels from Wittner for a modicum of height, a black vinyl cylindrical shoulder bag from Beach n Beyond to carry all the essentials & finally, a handmade/handsoldered cuff & bangle in the shape of Celtic entertwined snakes that a dear friend sent from overseas as a Christmas gift a few years ago that I've worn on the one wrist to complete the look.

Seeing Spots

Jumpsuit: City Chic chiffon
Heels: Kitten D'Amour vegan leather
Bag: Sussan vinyl
Necklace: Oxfam Shop silver, malachite
Hinged Bangle: Oxfam Shop silver
Bangle Stack: Gift, vintage Mexican silver
Ring: The Rock Shop silver, malachite

If you read this blog on a regular basis, you'll know that polka dots are a perennial favourite. Equal parts classic & cutesy, polka dots - particularly monochromatic - really make a statement & I've even taken it up a notch with a wide-legged jumpsuit with ruffled neckline from City Chic. I've styled it up with a pair of black vegan leather dual buckle heels from Kitten D'Amour, black vinyl shoulder bag from Sussan to carry all the essentials & some of my most beloved jewellery pieces - a silver & malachite choker necklace & silver hinged bangle from Oxfam Shop that were purchased for my high school formal more than twenty years ago, stack of vintage Mexican silver bangles from some dear friends who now reside overseas & finally, a silver & malachite cocktail ring from (sadly now defunct) The Rock Shop in Brisbane City to complete the look.

Business/Casual

*

Dress: Wellington Factory cotton
Heels: Kitten D'Amour vegan leather
Bag: Sussan vinyl
Bangle: Gift, 20th Century Antiques & Collectibles vintage silver
Bangle Stack: Gift, vintage Mexican silver

*

As a stylist, I love nothing better than something sartorially unexpected & this stunning shift dress with high, ruffled neckline & elasticated cuffs from slow fashion label Wellington Factory certainly fits the bill! Made from a cotton fabric mainly used for men's suiting but used in a funky, rather nonchalant way, it certainly is the true definition of business/casual in my mind. I've styled it up here for a shopping trip followed by a leisurely lunch in the park with a pair of black vegan leather dual buckle heels from retro-inspired brand Kitten D'Amour, a black vinyl shoulder bag from Sussan to carry all the essentials, a vintage silver bangle my brother bought me from 20th Century Antiques & Collectibles (formerly of Coolangatta, now of Tweed Heads) & a stack of vintage Mexican silver bangles that some friends sent from overseas as a thoughtful surprise.

Guipure Lace in the Garden

Dress: Asos Edition guipure lace
Heels: Wittner leather, gold buckles

Brooch: Ipswich Art Gallery Gift Shop brass

Finally sharing all of the stunning pictures of this gorgeous neon green floral guipure lace mini smock dress from online emporium Asos' premium diffusion line, Asos Edition that were taken a few weeks ago at Ipswich's historic Queens Park. I'm swanning around the Orchid Society Greenhouse in the aforementioned confection, styled up with a pair of gold metallic leather pointy-toed heels with buckles from Wittner, a natural woven straw bucket bag with diamantes from the delightful Oh Jo Jo Boutique at the "top of town" & a sweet little gold bumble bee brooch from the Ipswich Art Gallery Gift Shop to complete the look.
