Last Sunday, we celebrated the love between two special people with a High Tea Marriage Celebration for Kyle & Kat, who were wed in St Petersburg, Russia almost a year ago & are finally able to celebrate here in Queensland, Australia with their nearest & dearest. The lush, rainforest surroundings (augmented by the cool, rainy afternoon); sweet wedding decor (including photographs from the day in question); ingenious Find-A-Word game (all questions about the bride & groom, of course!); delicious sandwiches, slices & danish; complimentary glass of bubbly champagne... not to mention a photobooth stocked with all manner of amusing disguises & accoutrements made for a wonderful experience - particularly for someone (like myself) who hadn't been to Walkabout Creek in 25 years!

For the occasion, I decided on this stunning rose-printed jacquard dress with jersey bodice from Anthea Crawford in shades of pink, red & black with amazing "drop waist" pleating & tulle underlay that really gives that vintage-style sense of movement that I absolutely adore! When it came to accessories, there was a nod to Autumn with a pair of black suede laser-cut lace-up heeled sandals from Novo & cherry red (a big colour trend for the cooler months) vinyl handbag from Nine WestJewellery was kept minimal & statement-making: a chunky wooden beaded bangle from India on one arm & a "woven" silver circle cuff on the other.

Well, now that the fashion is taken care of, scroll down to see how the afternoon unfolded, starting with these sweet mother/daughter selfies...

(She's wearing Anthea Crawford, too! It's now a family affair.)

Sweet, romantic touches...

Had such a blessed time today, celebrating darling little Silas Jackson's Baptism in the misty rain of a Winter morning in Toowoomba. The heritage-listed church - with its soaring internal columns, vaulted ceilings that naturally draw the eyes heavenward & breathtaking stained glass windows depicting a myriad of biblical scenes in vibrant hues regardless of the weather - was the ideal place to welcome this dear little man into God's family. In fact, the external stone architecture & manicured lawn dotted with thick, tall palm trees also became the gorgeous setting for an impromptu family photo session after the ceremony.

This stunning Barbara Jane Collection botanical guipure lace dress, with its soft mauve tone, cap sleeves & unique mesh "illusion" neckline was the perfect option for such a special occasion; a mix of sweetness & sophistication. Here it is in all its glory:

Rather than don a heavy, dark jacket (possibly black) over the top of a pastel dress, I chose a luminous, off-white crepe coat from Perri Cutten with a matching detachable wool cape & faux fur collar with pom-pom tie. The stark, collarless, midi-length style keeps the 3D lace of the dress front & centre - peeking out between the neckline & below the hem - as evidenced below:

And here's where I admit that I absolutely LOVE the "Snow Queen" vibe of the aforementioned cape... & that I've probably watched Frozen a few too many times as I just have such an urge to start humming that earwig-of-a-theme-song, "Let It Go."

Being Winter, the look was "anchored" by a pair of stiletto-heeled suede & neoprene booties from Corelli, matte 40 denier Razzamatazz tights & a boxy, patent handbag from Novo with a graphic & floral printed silk Anthea Crawford scarf tied in a bow around one of the handles to pull the entire look together.

When it came to jewellery, silver & black was the name of the game - a Pandora bangle with an eclectic mix of charms, matching Pandora heart charm ring & thin diamante chip band from Prouds as well as the piece de resistance: a funky Erstwilder silhouetted resin take on the classic "Parisian Woman Walking a Poodle" pin.

A little trip down "Memory Lane" to finish - some pictures of my delightful Goddaughter Tobin Louisa (one of Silas' BIG sisters) being Baptised 7 years ago! I can't believe how fast time flies... & how young we all looked...

(I'm pictured with Tobin's mother, Mirandah & her Godfather, Beau)

May the Lord bless this child & keep her.
May the Lord make his face to shine upon her & be gracious to her.
May the Lord lift up his countenance upon her & give her peace.
