Getting my pre-Christmas decorating, wrapping & arranging all wrapped up today & thinking back to before the borders were opened when shopping & socialising took on a more peaceful, leisurely pace & there was time to stop for a quick "happy snap" underneath this giant light-up present box at Indooroopilly Shoppingtown! For the occasion - a little window shopping before heading to a festive party - I'm wearing a gorgeous & rather voluminous mini dress from Romance Was Born's recent Disney Cinderella collaboration, a pair of black leather lace-up heels from Jo Mercer for a modicum of height, a boxy black vinyl handbag from French Connection to carry all the essentials & finally, a stack of faceted bead bracelets from the lovely Jeweled Bazaar boutique on Etsy. Obviously the other important accessory of note is the facemask - which looks to become de rigeur again in 2022 - which is the black woven hemp option from Oroton & actually stays quite cool despite the rising summer temperatures & humidity levels.

More snippets from 2019's festive celebrations with some beautiful photographs from Christmas Eve (otherwise known as "the night before the big day") before a severe storm moved in & forced us back inside. I'm wearing a stunning (heavy!) vibrant red floral jacquard tiered midi dress with tie straps from whimsical British label Dream Sister Jane via Asos, a pair of sumptuous black & beige lace pointy-toed flats with black beaded detailing & matching envelope clutch from Nine West, a trio of green & red glass beaded bracelets with charms including Frosty the Snowman, Holly & Santa Claus that were gifted by dear friends a few years ago & finally, a kitschy Christmas Pudding felt headpiece with faux pearls from Bed Bath n Table that, quite honestly, made me feel like the Queen of Hearts from Lewis Carroll's "Alice's Adventures in Wonderland," which I very much appreciated.

Light It Up (part 2)

In yesterday's post I looked back at pictures of local Christmas lights & I'm doing the same in today's installment, this time focusing on my absolute favourites, including this amazing display that used predominantly recycled or upcycled materials to create a functioning igloo that grown-ups could actually climb inside, Nutcracker soldiers, a curved archway & Santa train with carriages! I'm posing near the aforementioned igloo (& inside it!) wearing a gorgeous bright blue stretch lace wiggle dress with asymmetrical ruffled neckline & strap detail from Aussie label Sacha Drake, black leather heeled sandals with silver buckles from Wittner & a boxy black vinyl handbag from French Connection with printed floral silk scarf from Anthea Crawford tied on the handles.
