Finally sharing all of the gorgeous pictures of an outfit that I styled up to attend a gala performance in the River City a little earlier this year, when restrictions had eased a little bit. I'm feeling regal in this stunning emerald green twill flared midi dress with asymmetrical bow shoulder detail from celebrated Australian designer Anthea Crawford, a pair of shiny black patent ankle boots from Wittner & a black velvet knot bag from sweet little Spanish boutique Swinging Chicks Shop on Etsy to carry all the essentials including a mask & hand sanitizer... it really is the TARDIS of bags, so to speak... When it came to jewellery, I decided to make a strong statement with an amazing, large sized brass & stone bib necklace that a dear friend brought back from a trip to India a few years ago that really "popped" against the vibrancy of the dress' emerald green hue & a pair of brass bangles - a thick, vintage twisted bangle that I picked up from The Way We Wore Vintage Fair quite some time ago & a thin, brushed bangle from my local Tree of Life store to complete the look.

Posting all of the pictures of the amazing ensemble I wore to celebrate Chinese New Year at an exclusive luncheon in the River City on Tuesday... This deep red mesh & embroidered lace fit-to-flare dress with bright red tulle underlay (a gift from a friend currently undertaking an overseas odyssey) is STUNNING, particularly the deep "v" front neckline, high back detail & sweet "see-through" lace cap sleeves.

Silver was the colour of choice when it came to accessories - a matching glitter pair of mid-heel court shoes with pointy toes & a vintage-style clutch with silver clasp by C'est Bon, found many years ago in a sale at my local Williams the Shoemen store. Jewellery followed the same "sparkly & statement-making" vibe - a trio of silver & gold bangles with twinkling beadwork from India & intricate gold flower brooch with silver & red crystals that was given to me as a souvenir after dear friends visited Singapore recently. After days spent mulling over possible dress choices, trialing copious pairs of sassy yet comfortable heels & laying out a litany of funky jewellery pieces, it was finally here: the #everydaystyle second birthday celebration lunch at the Brisbane Hilton, hosted by fashion maven, entrepreneur & creator of online fashion, beauty & lifestyle hub Styling You, Nikki Parkinson & sponsored by Olympus Australia.

A fabulous opportunity to meet many of the stylish women who regularly share their inspirational & aspirational outfits using the seemingly ubiquitous Instagram hashtag IN PERSON, the poolside celebration included a two-course menu created exclusively by the Hilton's Executive Chef, complimentary glasses of bubbly endlessly proffered by polite & professional waiters, generous gifts & door prizes, tips & tricks on taking selfies from a former model & a professional photographer to capture all the magic moments!

The event's dress code was #daytimesummerglam so something a little bit special was required... like this amazing floral cotton sateen dress from Anthea Crawford with its 1950s style cap-sleeves, nipped-in waist with "soft" boning & bell skirt with horsehair hem for shape; the perfect mix of youthful bon vivance & sophisticated glamour. Flesh tone patent t-bar sandals (with a peachy undertone) from Novo were donned to elongate my five foot frame & I carried a bright, colour-blocked handbag (also from Anthea Crawford) for an edgier vibe. This vibe was then further enhanced by the off-beat jewellery pieces chosen - a matching gold & rose gold cuff & cocktail ring combo - handmade using unique semi-precious stones - that I picked up from one of the market stalls at this year's EKKA.
