It's no secret that antiquing & "shopping small" at a variety of different little independent boutiques & markets is something that I absolutely love to do & that goes double for during the festive season! I'm sharing all the gorgeous pictures from a morning spent browsing around a new haunt (Vend Annerley) & a couple of favourites (New Farm Antique Centre & Camp Hill Antiques, respectively) with my younger brother as well as a leisurely lunch at the delightful Aji Spice House at Teneriffe. For the occasion - a slightly cooler morning in South East Queensland - I donned a stunning burgundy & cream large-scale embroidered floral mini dress with drawstring neckline & sweet angel sleeves from a label called Sass that I picked up from Oh Jo Jo Boutique in Ipswich, a pair of burgundy vegan leather retro-inspired t-bar heels with buttons & bows from Kitten D'Amour for a modicum of height, a burgundy woven paper crossbody bag with strap from Sussan to carry all the essentials, a stack of vintage Mexican silver bangles from some dear friends & single vintage silver bangle from 20th Century Antiques & Collectibles to complete the look & add some daytime shine.

Finally sharing all the gorgeous pictures from a day spent antiquing for a belated birthday gift in one of my favourite places, New Farm Antique Centre on Commercial Road, Teneriffe followed by a leisurely lunch at the amazing Botany Restaurant & Bar in Newstead! For the occasion, I wore a stunning upcycled kimono patchwork shift dress with modified funnel collar that was handmade at the delightful Kazuyo's Collection in West End (& basically seems like it was made just for me) styled up with a cropped black jersey cardigan with chiffon ruffled hemline from Metalicus that I picked up at the Vinnies in Rosewood, a pair of black vegan leather strappy heels with sweet little buttons from retro-inspired label Kitten D'Amour for a modicum of height & a funky, handmade wool crossbody bag in the shape of Totoro from Studio Ghibli's beloved film, "My Neighbour Totoro" (1988) to carry all the essentials while adding a touch of whimsy. When it came to jewellery, I donned some beloved favourites - a stack of vintage Mexican silver bangles that some dear friends brought back from overseas & a single vintage silver bangle that my brother bought for me from 20th Century Antiques & Collectibles a few years ago when it was still situated on Griffith Street at Coolangatta to complete the look & add a touch of daytime shine.

Keep scrolling for a peek at our lunchtime fare, all shared "family style..."

Finally, a few little snapshots of my beautiful new statue - a Royal Dux ceramic shepherd from the early 1900s that was based on King David from the Old Testament, the shepard boy who famously beat the giant Goliath using a stone & a slingshot - in his new home...

Finally sharing all of the gorgeous pictures from a Saturday spent browsing around some of my favourite River City antique stores & enjoying a leisurely lunch at one of my favourite riverside spots - Aji Spice House - with my younger brother as a belated birthday treat. For the occasion, I donned a gorgeous monochrome polka dot printed ramie midi dress with belt from Portmans, bright red silk knitted cropped cardigan with bow neckline & matching vegan leather wedge sandals with white stitching from "retro girly" cult label Kitten D'Amour, upcycled red quilted polyester crossbody bag from Cotton On to carry all the essentials while keeping my hands free for picking up vintage & antique treasures & finally, some of my most beloved silver pieces - a single vintage bangle from 20th Century Antiques & Collectibles as well as a stack of vintage Mexican silver bangles that some dear friends brought back from an overseas trip a few years ago - to complete the look.
